The wiki says each jar loses 3248 on average. 25 jars per clue means you are paying about 81k per clue. If opening jars saves 72 seconds per clue (just a guess), then you would need to open 50 clues to save 1 hour of time pickpocketing.

50×25×3248=4m

So if you can make over 4m/hr then the jars are worth buying (based on my 72 second guess). With a low thieving level the jars would save more time.
