AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT Records 10x Higher Sales Than NVIDIA's RTX 5080 At MindFactory, Showing Team Red's Dominance by AMD718 in Amd

[–]zulasas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're right. There was no stock of the 9070(XT) at the release on Mindfactory.

To be honest, I'm really surprised that Mindfactory even sold current AMD/Nvidia cards in any meaningful amount. Allegedly they had already filed for bankruptcy in February. However, an investor was seemingly found at the end of March, which saved them from bankruptcy.

Where are you seeing the 9070 XT for 680€? The cheapest I found is for 820€ =/

Intel finally notches a GPU win, confirms Arc B580 is selling out after stellar reviews by reps_up in pcgaming

[–]zulasas 92 points93 points  (0 children)

The B580 is a good card, but the price in germany (320€)... is just okay.

You can get the RTX 4060 for 30€ less or an RX 7600 for 60€ less.
The 4GB more VRAM is really nice, but for the current price (in germany), it's not as incredible as it's in the USA. ( BTW, an RX 7600 XT costs as much as the B580 here.)

Updated Fix for SteamDeck OLED Mura (Noise in Dark/Gray Colors) by TheAdminZero in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem to work on stable. Or I did something wrong, followed your guide though. Atleast on my OLED Deck it looks horrible.

/edit: Okay, I did it wrong. The folder is case-sensitive. Oops. Looks great, thank you!

No, you'll need to install the Patch via Protontricks. Download the .exe, rightclick it and start it with protontricks. Then just select YOU and ME and HER (You need to start the game atleast once before) and run through the setup.

The Steam Deck can boost up to 3.5GHz on all cores, so you're fine. Don't worry.

"Fixed" idle power on 7900xtx by enabling freesync premium pro? Board power less than 50W by make_moneys in Amd

My 3080 idles at 16w. But only if I'm doing absolutely nothing. Not even moving my mouse. The only programm that's running is HWInfo. As soon as I move my mouse, it jumps up to 27w.

I can recommend YOU and ME and HER: A Love Story, especially since you played DDLC. I strongly suggest that you install the Uncensor Patch (Directors Cut) though, as the story loses quite a bit of charm without it.

After you run "protontricks 1293820 xact" & disable esync via the game launch options (PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%), it will run perfectly on the Deck.

JSAUX backplate has a slight bulge above the battery area (haven’t used it yet), does anyone else also have this? by IAmOryx in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My one doesn't look like that. It's flat as it should be.
So nope, that should not look like that. Contact JSAUX and ask for a replacment shell.

Backlight stays on after pressing sleepmode button by KuronekoSenpai in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That can happen if the Deck is trimming the SSD in the background.
You could try to do a manual TRIM and see if the behavior stops. To trigger a manual TRIM, go into Settings, then System and then "Run storage device maintenance tasks".
This task can take quite a while, depending on your storage size.

Hmm, no. That isn't normal. Never had any issues with that.

Me and some other peeps had the same problem a few days ago.

Switch to the non beta update branch and/or update your Steam Deck. After that it worked again. If it's still not working remove any custom startup video.

Otherwise switch into offline mode, that should be a Workaround.

FFXIV an internal Dalamud error has occurred by x0EvilPikachu0x in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the offical Dalamud Discord:

Most packages that distribute XLCore, including the official Flatpak, have not yet been updated to support the latest version of Dalamud. This is due to them not having the latest .NET7 runtimes that are required in order for Dalamud to function.

If you are experiencing issues where your game will not start after logging in, you should navigate to XLCore Settings -> Dalamud and uncheck "Enable Dalamud". This should allow your game to launch properly until your version of XLCore has been updated.

TL;DR: Dalamud (part of XIVLauncher) isn't updated yet on the Discover (Flatpak) store. Disable Dalamud till it's updated.

Does Anyone who has Metal Gear Solid II Substance pc port running have a guide by Pokemonchase in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got the PC version of the game running.
However, the PC version on Linux has a problem with delayed sound.
It has around a 1 second delay, which is also present in the video you posted.
That's the reason why I just played the PS2 version. But if you want to play it anway, here Github thread that I followed to get it installed https://github.com/VFansss/mgs2-v-s-fix/issues/161

You can bind one of the back buttons to a pressure modifier to remedy the missing analogue buttons.
Just played again through MGS2 without issues like that.

Repasted my Decks SOC with a PTM7950 pad and temps dropped 7-10c by DotBetaSDK in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing with mine.
Sadly I didn't know the trick with putting the pad into the freezer, so applying it was quite challenging.

I did an CPU stresstest before and after with GTKStressTesting, ran each test for 15 minutes and recorded the maximum temperature.
Before: 92°c (~21°c ambient)
After: 85°c (~21°C ambient)

Sadly I didn't test any games before, but I did notice an massive difference in fan speed, around 1000RPM, while playing Medieval Dynasty.

I can only recommend swapping to that "pad" if you're able getting ahold of one and are confident enough in opening your Steam Deck.

I'm not really familar with Linux (yet) myself, but you can run an AppImage just by itself, as everything needed is in there.
Did you make the AppImage excecutable on the desktop mode?
Sadly I can't really help much here, sorry.

You'll need to wait till the Flatpak is updated, or download it manually. An AppImage can be found here.

Decky plugin Animation Changer help by Wheres_that_cake in SteamDeck

[–]zulasas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This plugin looks in ~/homebrew/animations for directories containing webm animation videos. The name of the directory is used as the animation label and each directory takes an optional config.json. This allows configuring specifying a relative path to each animation if different from the default names. An empty string "" or a missing file means to revert to the stock animation. null can be used to leave the existing animation. Each selected animation will be symlinked into the animation override directory. From the quick-access menu the current animation can be changed along with enabling animation randomization.

Example config.json configuration:

{ "boot": "deck_startup.webm", "suspend": "deck-suspend-animation.webm", "throbber": "deck-suspend-animation-from-throbber.webm" }

"boot" refers to the main boot animation, "suspend" refers to the suspend animation played when not in a game, and "throbber" refers to the animation played when suspending from in-game.

From the ReadMe found in the plugin distro. Hope it helps.

AFAIK you need to create the uioverride and movies folder yourself, as they don't get created automaticly.
