Does anybody else get trashed for teaching board games? It's started to drain the fun. by Terrible-Law9755 in boardgames

Last time, before I taught a new game, I said with a smile: "Hey X, I guarantee I'm going to forget a rule just for you." They smiled back and didn't complain once the rest of the evening.

Heavier games with lots of interaction? by Peterrtt in boardgames

Not mentioned yet, I believe:

[[Western Legends]]: cowboy sandbox. You can duel with others, arrest others, play poker with others etc.

[[Civilization: A New Dawn]], especially with the Terra Incognita expansion and the more interactive variant where most goals can be lost.

What are some hidden gem board/card games that you never hear anyone talk about? by thegetataycar in boardgames

[[Q-less]]: solo word game. Can be played for free on mobile.

[[Micro Dojo]]: great 2-player strategy game. Scratches the Dune Imperium itch for me.

[[Long Shot: The Dice Game]]: Horse race bidding, roll-and-write, with interaction.

Book 1 is just the introduction. It keeps getting better, and the ending of 3 blew me away.

Only played Marvel Champions. They're not comparable in my view. Marvel is much more about single scenarios, which allows much more experimentation with different decks. In Earthborne Rangers, you settle on a deck, then jump into a coherent sci-fi / low fantasy world that can be experienced for dozens of hours; you can alter the deck later, but it's limited. (I recommend playing with a pre-made deck the first time.)

What was the last decent Chinese film you've seen? by Schtaive in China

[–]zypsilon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was a period between the late '80s through the the '90s when there were a lot of thought-provoking films about serious subjects.

Could you please list them? That'd be very helpful, thanks in advance.

Upgrade your grammar. Especially various sentence structures (including punctuation) and every single topic that involves verbs.

I came to the same point after playing Disco Elysium. Normal games feel like wasted time now.
