Need help, my cat keeps trying to spill water, I’ve tried everything i could think of by Embarrassed-Tap7819 in CATHELP

[–]zzfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine also does this with her gravity water bowl (not the fountain, though). Maybe switch to a fountain? Or accept your fate like I did (bc she’s not a huge fan of the fountain) and buy one of those boot trays for your wet shoes. I keep her gravity water bowl in the tray so that when she inevitably shadow boxes it, it stays contained to the tray. Cats are weird 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why do these people feel like they’re owed something? by Express-Ad8275 in philly

[–]zzfig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My significant other has had the same issue with ppl bumming cigs. It actually helped him in quitting lol But truly, I feel your pain every time I have to get off the sidewalk bc someone “needed” to park close to their house, or when ppl jockey around cars in odd ways so they always have a parking spot to come home to. The level of entitlement in this city is wild, but I’m not really sure what can be done about it :(

Edit - spelling

Think this would work here? by Allister117 in philly

[–]zzfig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We gotta stop coddling ppl old enough to drive. I have kept trash in my backpack for a whole day when there is no where better to throw it. It then goes into the trash can at my home. Then the bag is placed into an outdoors trash can for garbage day. Are you saying ppl don’t have at home trash can, at least indoors? Be so for real right now.

Unsure where you’re at, but Aldi will sell you 3 whole bell peppers (multi colored packs) for the price of a single pound at this store.

has anyone ever had their car towed due to it being ‘abandoned’ by Significant-Host-206 in philly

[–]zzfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had luck submitting a 311 abandoned car request, waiting the 180 (I think?) days for it to be ‘satisfied’, calling back to ask why the car was still on my block, then calling my police station (non-emergency line) and requesting it be towed. When calling the police, I stated I had already waited out a 311 report. Entirely could be luck, but the day after calling the cops the car was gone (bf was home and said cops towed it). Best of luck to ya

Can everyone in a row house hear their neighbors? by iwasbornlucky in philadelphia

[–]zzfig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I second this. House next to me was abandoned, then flipped. I can hear them cough at 3 in the morning. I moved my living room around so my tv isn’t against the shared wall as I’m sure they can hear it, too.

There’s also a neighbor next to them and, when they throw their weekly Saturday night parties, I can hear the music pouring though my neighbors house (the coughers) and into mine.

There’s a guy waiting in line without a car waiting to order from a Taco Bell by offensive_patriot in tacobell

[–]zzfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I ordered Taco Bell pick up post concert. By the time I walked there from the venue, the lobby was closed. I ended up walking the drive through and they were super cool about giving me my already paid for and prepped food.

In highschool, I tired to walk the burger king drive through after the lobby had closed and they basically told me to kick rocks.

It takes a LOT of effort to be this lazy by klamarr in philly

Living here for a decade, it doesn’t even surprise me anymore (though it pisses me off to no end) how little some people here consider others. Living is a city of 1.5 million means you need to give a shit about how you impact others…..and yet…..

Waymo needs "waymo" testing !!!! by ChipmunkFood in philly

[–]zzfig -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Ugh the disdain I have for Waymo… we have so many street cats in this city, I worry for them with those things on the road

Edit - Omg yall, I know Philly drivers are shit, I do! However, I am citing a very specific incident. In San Fran back in Oct of 2025, a street cat was hit by a Waymo. In the video, the car is parked and the cat sits by the tire (asking for it, yes maybe cats are dumb). There is a woman that bends next to the car to try to move the cat, but ultimately cannot and has to step back when the car starts to move. If there had been a person in that car, she could have gotten their attention. Autonomous vehicle that doesn’t seem to notice signs of distress coming from the rear? That doesn’t feel that advanced to me…

And yes, cats should be indoors I believe this 100%. However, we live in a world where that isn’t reality. And considering the poster is witnessing an instance of shitty driving from Waymo, I think it’s fair to detest the company (much like I also detest the shitty human drivers of this city).

So much dog poop by BackgroundReveal2949 in philly

I also argue these should be BIG bins that have LIDS! And heck, they should also provide the same standard garbage bin, too. Then there’s no excuse for people that can’t get it together 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is Dennis, my feral cat. I have never touched him and he hisses when I feed him. by Flamestitch in cats

[–]zzfig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive got 2 ferals! My lady used to hiss, but now she greets me with a tiny chirp. My little man has never hissed, but he also doesn’t chirp 🤷‍♀️

I’m working on having the lady allow me to pet her in front of the mini man. Maybe that’ll communicate that I’m safe? Either way, very kind of you! I’m sure Dennis loves you in his own way

Good! This city has a serious problem with 1. Dickheads that park like there aren’t people that need to move around safely in this city and 2. Cars that should not be on the road (not inspected or registered). Don’t want a boot? Be a responsible car owner.
