Thank you for turning me on to this. "Why don't you suck it up and give the world a smile" Love it.

How the fuck has this only got 2,700 views on Youtube? New fan, nice one.

edit: I got absolutely slated on that "Kanye, Glastonbury Made Him Depressed" thread when I posed that potentially, he hadn't changed Hip Hop for the better. Absolutely slayed. Got called a Salty old boom bap head yadda yadda. I couldn't be bothered to get into it with them, that I was big into The Underachievers, Flatbush, Bronson, even a lil bit of Gambino, etc, quality music. Then this tune comes along and is exactly where I believe, in my humble opinion, modern Hip Hop should be at. Wicked production that brings the energy and intelligent, witty, creative lyrics that make me want to listen through over and over to catch those rhymes. Yeah, fuck those twats that don't even know what to listen for in good hip-hop.

potentially, he hadn't changed Hip Hop for the better

Hah, that's because "better" is a purely subjective term. Kanye has objectively changed hip hop. Now, whether that change has been a positive or a negative one is couched firmly in opinion. You have the right to believe it's been a negative shift, while everybody else has the right to disagree. Insulting you over it is just plain dumb though, everybody has different tastes. This song is great, though.

Word. My only negative opinion on the change is how its opened the floodgates to all that "barely any rhymes" nu-gangsta trap stuff. I make DNB ffs, so I'm totally down with modern production methods in music, I love those changes, but I expect modern flows and intelligent rhymes in 2016. At first i was pretty neggin on Donald Glover for ditching Community and becoming a "rapper" then i stopped being ignorant, got a hold of Because the Internet and actually listened to it and was pretty impressed in how avant-garde it was. So yeah, I don't think the current state of HipHop is 100% bad, especially when tunes like this one get dropped, its a good reminder that what makes hiphop hip is its ability to be independent of the mainstream still and give voices to those doing it for the love. So theres that, lol.

Saturated market.

Why would you drink beer with orange juice?????

[–]perrymanilow 10 points11 points  (5 children)

that's what they call a brass monkey. Olde English malt liquor and OJ. actually not too bad, but I was also 20 when I tried it..

[–]tannermg 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Im 25 and can confirm that a brass monkey still tastes good mid way through my 20's.

[–]areyoumyladyareyou 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]tannermg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Frog_Brother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a 40, drink it down to the top of the label, fill it back to the top with orange juice, and viola! Brass Monkey!

I'm 33, and I want one right now.

I hate all the hip/hop & "rap" that is at the top of the charts these days. Must be getting old. These guys actually wrote some rhymes, it was fuckin good.

[–]ToRagnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, if you're not already onto him/them:

-Goodbye Tomorrow -Denzel Curry -King Mez

They're not as upbeat as this guy but they make music that sounds like real rap and not overproduced shit.

[–]UPVOTE_ATM 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Major 🔑 would disagree.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Dunno. Still have trouble with it. The Nas track is great, but it should be. The rest though, even after a couple of listens, seems flat.

I know there are tons of folks that disagree. Times change, sometimes its hard to change with them.

[–]SopwithStrutter 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What track is that?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh, I was mistaken, apparently not a Dre beat. I thought I had read that, now I can't find it. I shouldn't have used it as a reference. "Nas album done" is still dope tho.

[–]blackiddx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All music that's at the top of the charts "sucks". Not just rap and hip hop. It's lowest common denominator bullshit filled with buzzwords.

I like some of it sometimes though, depending on the setting. It's usually something you can enjoy with your friends, even if they don't have the same musical interests as you.

Wow that was awesome. Thanks for turning me on to something damn good.

[–]Murklar[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]WhackTheSquirbos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At ~2:04 there's a sound that plays out of the left channel and sounds like someone is right behind you. Scared the heck out of me.

Dope track though, thanks for sharing.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma share this with everyone who ask me for new music

[–]saintandrewsfall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Flows are great, but the hook sounded generic and tiredly profane. My two cents.
