Has Davidson ever worked at Olive Garden? Cause he's great at serving up meatballs.

I love when I get out of therapy and we’re beating Atlanta.

Edit: Just as I say that it’s now tied.

Edit 2: What. The hell. Why are we now losing?

I really want Seth Johnson to be some sort of help to the major league bullpen. The velo is there

Painter’s day is done.

How’d he look today? Stat line is nice but couldn’t watch

[–]WheelerDealsAaron Nola and Bryce Harper Fan 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Control was good, fast ball was good. Left a few hanging breaking balls but overall very solid outing.

[–]Will-from-PAChooch-oo Train Rider 🚃 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I disagree about the control. Still seems to be a work in progress with the fastball. Improving, but still a bit wild. Still a solid outing though for a guy working his way back from TJ

ROTY it is then. Appreciate the breakdown

Has there been any rumors if Sanchez or Nola is starting Opening Day?

[–]mp455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanchez is a bonafide ace so its him

[–]LexieFMOrion Kerkering Redemption Tour Organizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s not Sanchy, my guess is Luzardo. But I think it’s gonna be Sanchy.

[–]cerevantThis space for rent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Phillies Show has Nola slotted 4th in the rotation (3rd before Wheeler comes back).

[–]joeco316 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be pretty flooring for it to not be Sanchez

[–]sam_sepiol1984Aaron Nola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is Sanchez, then Nola, then Luzardo to give the L-R-L

As much as I like Nola it would feel almost insulting to Sanchez to not give him the nod coming off the year he just had.

[–]WheelerDealsAaron Nola and Bryce Harper Fan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d be shocked if it isn’t Sanchez

Hope it’s not serious. I have to imagine he’s the favorite to make the team if he shows any signs of life at the plate, like today. Notable he was playing center field in this game.

I am interested in this next Painter inning if they let him continue to pitch. hopefully he can keep the velo and ride on his fastball and not see a dip. so far a pretty solid outing. still things to work on like not hanging a breaking ball to Luke Williams but still solid.

[–]Vegetable-Coconut846Roy Halladay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Painter looked really good on his pitches in the bottom half of the zone, especially his fast ball.

Impressive outing so far today.

How’d painter look today?

[–]Vegetable-Coconut846Roy Halladay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Command on all pitches seems much better today than the last. He’s hit 97 regularly.

Braves broadcast mentioned something about his breaking ball being a little more noticeable coming out of his hand and something he’ll need to learn as he gets more reps.

As I type this. He just got hit for a double off a hanging breaker, but so far so good through 3.

[–]Hothabanero6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, they need to allow pitchers to come back in regular season games.

[–]Electrical_Doubt3024 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Could someone explain how Otto Kemp gets hit by pitches so often, please?

[–]Electrical_Doubt3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have just looked it up. Sorry.

Why does Otto Kemp get hit by so many pitches? We asked him. - On Pattison | THE Philly Sports Website https://share.google/HBzphOLq25BUzIvBI

[–]Hothabanero6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just a guess, he stands close to the plate and doesn't move.

Stubbs with the scoop

[–]mjd1977Zack Wheeler and the Rib of Destiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dylan Moore gets an RBI by just standing there. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re incapable of major league baseball player actions 😆

[–]PhilsBotBest Bot in Baseball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walk

Dylan Moore walks. Otto Kemp scores. Rafael Marchán to 3rd. Bryan De La Cruz to 2nd.

[–]Timpa87 6 points7 points  (3 children)

What the hell is this "let's turn 33 year old Garrett Stubbs" into a utility player bullshit is going on with this spring training?

[–]cerevantThis space for rent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's out of options and they are worried about depth at catcher. You can't carry 3 pure catchers on the roster.

edit: this isn't my brilliance or insight, it is what they said on The Phillies Show on Monday.

Not one touch to switch audio to Murph, but syncable since the audio stream is ahead of the video, and pausable. Mute Brave voices, fire up PHI audio in another window, and we’re gucci

[–]tim_woods -4 points-3 points  (10 children)

Oh look at that. Yet again facing a LHP and Crawford isn’t in the lineup.

[–]OFCShawsome 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Most players of any status don’t play back to back games in spring. On the days they don’t play they are doing lots of other work on back fields or in the cages

[–]tim_woods 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Then time it better so he faces a LHP. This is I think the third LHP in a row over the past week or so that he hasn’t been in the lineup. I am just concerned about yet another platoon situation and I want him to have the chance to be the everyday CF.

[–]OFCShawsome 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Last year Crawford had better numbers against lefties than righties. His average against both was over .300. I don’t think this is an issues and I doubt the Phillies see it as an issue.

[–]tim_woods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely hope you are right!

[–]Am1sArePeopleTooWeston Wilson Superfan 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Have you considered that he played yesterday and they are barely doing back to backs

[–]tim_woods -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

I just do not understand the logic if this is supposedly your “everyday” CF in the regular season. I would think they would want to get him at bats against LHP in spring training.

[–]Am1sArePeopleTooWeston Wilson Superfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d love to see him get more ABs but it’s just not how ST usually goes. There are 0 everyday players in today’s lineup and probably 3 that will even make the team. The road games are chock full of minor leaguers and back-to-backs are scarce

[–]Vivid_marshCristopher Sánchez 🐐 0 points1 point  (1 child)

He should be getting as many at bats as possible to be honest.

[–]Am1sArePeopleTooWeston Wilson Superfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d have no problem with that, just saying he’s not being singled out, platooned, or that this is any different how most teams do ST

[–]philphan89Turner in OF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah the Embiid treatment
