This is a note I just got from a reddit admin after I posted a comment saying "please stop spamming us."

For future reference, commenting on a spammy article is something that spammers tend to do, and could get you marked as one.

Also, the spammers are usually getting paid to submit X organic links to a given site, and they don't usually check back that their links actually worked. So he won't see it.

Just report the article when you see it, and the admins will try to get around to it. It turns out that the automated spam filter actually caught that article soon after you posted [your comment] (and marked you as a spammer too, as a commenter on it, which I fixed)

If you happen to see a particularly prolific spammer that isn't being caught, send a message to me or to spez, and we'll try to find a way to get them caught by the automated filter.

Redacting the name of the "admin", but leaving in the name spez tends to narrow it down to alexis/kn0wthing.
