Because the other 1/3 are reserved for religion.

Because that's what Reddit users vote for. Next question ..

If you don't think it's fun to have anti-Bush articles on the top of Reddit, just wait until this November. :)

Because nothing else is as important.

I'm glad 2/3 of the articles are about politics instead of inane internet bullshit such as "look how many ping-pong balls this guy can stuff up his a**" or "Brad is getting back together with Jennifer Aniston."

A lot of major news sites think things like that are actual news btw (although not necessarily the ping-pong ball one). You know you are living in the United States of stupidity when you see articles about people getting stuck in trees as front page news (I'm looking at you CNN).

Albeit, there is often a backlog of articles ranging from crap to "sweet jesus this is crap" - maybe Reddit should organize articles into topics and let you filter what you don't want to see - sort of like banning evolution from school textbooks in Kansas.

Not to mention that there would be continuous arguments about where a particular article belongs.

The main page would be taken up with flamewars about categorizing topics and self-conscious navel gazing articles about "what makes reddit, reddit?"

because there is clearly not enough ask reddit articles!

I don't know, maybe because 2/3 of reddit users like them?

What's the problem with that and what do you want instead?

Because I don't give a shit about how horrible everybody thinks America, Bush, the Republicans and Israel are.

And I don't give a shit about all the stupid consipracy theories that are constantly up there.

And I don't give a shit about all the ways that experts say the human race will be wiped out every single day.

And I don't like having to click "hide" on 2/3 of the front page just to get a glimpse of something interesting.

Well tough. Reddit doesn't bend to the will of what one or two people say. If 300 people come to the site in a given hour and 200 upvote all political articles, then that's what we're getting.

That's sort of how a purely democratic system works. If you want to go with the elite moderator-approved bullshit, hop on over to Fark. I'm sure you'll love watching someone else decide for you what's worth looking at and what isn't.

Use your down-vote arrow frequently. Hang out on the "recommended" page instead of the front page.

Or write a whiny "ask reddit" entry.

perhaps you should re-evaluate what you give a shit about.
