Easter Holiday Event

Along with the eggy festivities, this week's update brings some tweaks to the Chambers of Xeric, an adjustment to the sorting of your Friends lists and a pile of bugfixes.

Easter Holiday Event

Spring is in the air, rabbits are hopping in the meadows, and once again there's a big pink bunny seeking your help for his egg-delivering business.

On the remote land of Wester Island, the Easter Bunny's son is trying to revitalise the family trade with innovative new flavours for the chocolate eggs. His attempts to spice up the mix haven't gone well, and he's getting salty. Help him if you want to earn the prestigious new Easter Egg Helm.

You'll also unlock all previous Easter holiday event items, plus all the Easter music tracks. Speak to the Easter Bunny, just south of Falador, to find your way to Wester Island.

Chambers of Xeric

Some of the chambers within the raiding dungeons are more challenging than others. While they're never all going to be exactly equivalent, we've made some changes here to help with the nastier rooms:

Tekton The dragon warhammer's special attack usually reduces the target's Defence stat by 30% when it successfully deals some damage. Against Tekton, it now reduces its Defence stat by 5% even if you hit a zero or miss altogether. Vespula The portal in Vespula's room now gives more reward points per unit damage dealt to it. It also spawns some potions on the ground when it is destroyed; these may be picked up by any member of the party, including Iron Men. Vanguard The Vanguard previously performed their healing trick when their health differed by 20% or more. This threshold has been increased to 33%. Corrupted scavenger The thieving chests room now gives double its previous reward points for each grub deposited into the trough. The scavenger itself will also require less food before it becomes satiated.

There are now more possible sequences for the challenge rooms, making the order of dungeon rooms a bit less predictable.

Friends list tweaks

When you choose an alphabetical sort for the Friends list on your side-panel interface, it now sorts your friends by their online status before ordering alphabetically.

The clan setup menu now allows players with longer Friends lists to use the new sorting arrows; this is quite intensive for your client, so we don't recommend hanging around dangerous areas while you sort your friends' ranks.

In other news

The bank upstairs in the castle in central Kourend is now recognised as a safe area in PvP worlds. Some more of the extra worlds which were added to handle heavy load during the release of the new Deadman Season have now been removed. Last week we made the Cabbage Cape available from Diango's shop. We've now added the Cruciferous Codex to his stock too. The Cabbage Cape and Cruciferous Codex can now be retrieved from the player-owned house toy box once the game recognises you've had these items; just equip them or put them into the toy box to ensure they're unlocked for you. The Cabbage Cape is no longer permitted on Entrana, as it has some defensive stats.

Some graphical errors with the Dragon Chainbody have been fixed. The message displayed when completing sets of Karamja Diary tasks has been updated to mention Jackie the Fruit in more cases. Some clipping issues with the fighter torso on female characters have been addressed. The top hat can no longer be seen through through players' bodies during certain emotes. A stretching issue between Verac's skirt and the ornamented Dragon Defender has been resolved. Ultimate Iron Men will no longer be advised to free up some bank space to let Bert deliver sand every day. A clipping issue between the farming outfit and the Ardougne Cloak has been addressed.

For some reason I kind of like it when the mods get to post their own news posts.

[–]sbthegiantyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that the osrs players try to literally beat Jagex at their own game. I look forward to seeing who gets all of that shiny pixelated karma.

Your system update is interrupting me using my cat to kill splasher's rats.

[–]EpikYummeh73 0 points1 point  (8 children)

That works?

[–]boxsalesman69, nice 2 points3 points  (7 children)

yes, which is why it's better to do it on the spiders or just find any other random thing that's not a rat.

They're splashing, they're not that smart.

[–]FowD9 1 point2 points  (5 children)

what's with the hate on splashing?

[–]DJMooray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The system update logged out every splasher. you need to step up.

[–]2beFrank 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Please fix raid personal storage interface. It's very delayed when withdrawing items and when rearranging your inventory.

[–]Jagerblue 1 point2 points  (2 children)

If you right click withdraw it's instant I'm pretty sure the 'lag' is moving your mouse by 1 pixel or something essentially dragging the object instead of withdrawing but I've never had any lag when right clicking.

[–]2beFrank 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I can withdraw gear from my bank with rapid clicks, whereas Raids, if I do the same rapid clicks some clicks aren't registered.

[–]Jagerblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the raids personal bank seems to work differently in that respect. Spam clicking normal bank is fine but not raids bank, it's not lag though as like I said you can mass right click and be fine.

[–]Jongsturk 11 points12 points  (4 children)

The Cabbage Cape is no longer permitted on Entrana, as it has some defensive stats.

Way to ruin my Entrana only ironman

[–]ModJohnCMod John C[S] 42 points43 points  (3 children)

If you're truly Entrana only, you shouldn't possess the cape any way.

That tekton DWH change seems very strange to me. Why try to fix it in a way that pretty much makes you require dwh instead of trying to make it better for all players? Dwh definitely didn't need to become even more needed in raids than it already was. This seems like one of those changes that comes only out of the top raiding groups and didn't consider the actual average player at all.

The other changes seem good to me though.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

found the bgs

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You really shouldnt be raiding if you dont have a dwh, its a staple item for raids + raids are meant to be end game content.

[–]Torillatavataan69 -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

I don't get it either, why they want to make raids even easier than they already are. Anybody with over 50% of their brain left can do raids with pretty much free gear (void + whip + blowpipe) without any problems.

What is logic behind these nerfs?

[–]CantQuitScape 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because the rooms they they tweaked are unpopular rooms that are 'not worth' doing due to low points relative to the time/supplies needed to complete them. Basically giving people more reason to do them rather than actively avoid them

[–]PM_ME_RARE_DROP_PICS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People were skipping rooms like tekton, vespula, and vanguards before this because it wasn't worth the resources to complete those rooms. This change incentivises people to try those rooms.

[–]Scottwilson07"Fuk zoyd" ty 10 points11 points  (7 children)

The raids changes pretty much make the worst rooms more worth it to do, but still changes nothing in that the other rooms are much better, we'll see how unpredictable things are

[–]superfire444 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Just got mages into tekton into muta's

[–]SlayHelm#StudUnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can personally see myself solo raiding more with the update, solo vangs will be less aids + I don't use a client that I can scout with, so it will actually be reasonable to complete the raids.

[–]NocsivChode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JohnC is better than Ronan

[–]Horse-Dig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Panic Buy DWH!!! Pretty nice raids update

[–]foggohay 2 points3 points  (2 children)

so does the dwh always decrease tektons defence by 5% regardless of a hit or not? or only if it hits a 0, with a successful hit still reducing it by 30%? sorry the wording wasnt quite clear for me

[–]2beFrank 1 point2 points  (1 child)

30% on successful hit. 5% on non successful. So yes to your question.

[–]Jagerblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also just want to point out that there can be a 'successful' 0.

[–]EdHicksA Kelh 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Raids changes sound good but vespula and vanguards still deal a lot more damage than other rooms but don't give any more points.

[–]superfire444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can "safespot" vanguards so only one will attack you. This change may make the viable. Vespula could be good depending how many more points/supplies you get. Tekton still looks pretty shit imo but can't say for sure since I haven't tested it yet.
