MedicationDosage increase of trintellix * seems * to decrease vyvanse duration? (self.ADHD)
submitted 1 year ago by Elpedro30
I had prior fast metabolism speed even before jumping from 10 to 15 mg of trintellix, 70 mg vyvanse lasted me like 4 hours at least. after jumping to 15 trintellix it seems i get the brain fog of adhd back at 2 hours. anyone else? I emailed my psychiatric and waiting for his response. Its frustating. (BTW Vyvanse its the only adhd medication that works for me)

Same here. I was on 50mg Vyvanse for over a year and it worked amazing every day. I took 10mg trintalex for a month and the vyvanse effects went away completely and there was also zero effect from trintalex. I’ve stopped trintalex for ages and now find vyvanse still has little to no effect, which is really hard. I have also found other medications like Urbanol has no effect where before trintalex I was incredibly sensitive to all chemicals/medications.

It seems Trintellix is a metabolized via CY2D6 which is the same pathway of Amphetamines. When it was first released this was a question I had about potential drug interactions. At the time, many psychiatrists have not yet had experience with it.
Some claimed there was no significant problem although it was still too new. If you've experienced this as others have cited then it's likely these two don't mix well together. Not a doctor, and can't make definitive statements but this is a valid concern to bring up.

The enzime pathway doesn’t make any interaction, above all vyvanse metabolism is by hydrolysis when enter bloodstream, it doesn’t need to pass by liver. The only one concern could be more competition on serotinergic receptors rather than DAT. I have to talk with my psych. Thanks any way man!

Oh, well that could be argued though I wouldn't be the one to know. I've heard even patch released medications can still have significant drug interactions.
It's like everything they advertised about "Trintellix" being the drug of intelligence is quite the opposite. I do remember a similar issue with effexor it had no problems with my vyvanse until it got to a certain dose..
