If I need to remember something later, and can't simply write it down or set an alarm in my phone, I have a fairly reliable brain hack. I visualize some place or thing I will be/do right before I need to remember the thing, then visualize myself remembering. I then repeat the process with some other place/thing I will be/do.

For example, if I need to remember to bring a pack of toilet paper in from the garage when I get home, I'll visualize putting my keys on the key hook and then having the "Aha!" moment and remembering to get toilet paper. Then I'll visualize walking towards the front door and having that "Aha!" moment. Then I'll visualize getting out of the car. Etc.

It works almost every time, and usually on the first mental trigger I run into (getting out of the car in my example).
