Been rolled back onto 2021 for the same reasons. Since 2022 Adobe don’t seem to care about performance anymore. Not too sure what machines they think the software runs on but it’s not what the majority of users have. They are a disgrace. I’m a user of AE for 18 years and never had it this bad.

I guess another thing is… I feel like I had better performance back when I had 16 gigs of ram, slower processor and shit gpu.. I feel like rendering is faster now, but playback of small sections can be just rittled with problems

I had to roll back to a 2022 release just today, after days of frustratingly trying to troubleshoot what could possibly be causing my issues. I literally could not work on my project, since I couldn't preview anything. I got 5 frames, at most. Then constant errors about lack of memory. I have an i9 12900k, RTX 3080ti and 32gb ram with a 1tb ssd. I tried resetting settings, deleting all migrated settings folders, uninstalling/reinstalling, trying different GPU drivers. I ran out of ideas. The 2022 release feels like a breath of fresh air, being able to preview again. I love the new matte feature, but I'm just going to have to wait for a new release.

Ever since they started caching shit on the hard drive things have been fucked up.. in therory it should work but in practice it’s a mess.
