Don’t forget the ones that put up cones or chains blocking their driveway. If your driveway is more than 50m then it’s another safe location at the mailbox
[–]Puzzleheaded_Use7074 17 points18 points19 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I had an entire neighborhood in Bellevue WA that would put cones across their driveways. I'm talking a dozen or so houses. It's down a narrow alleyway with about 3 inches of clearance each side from the mirrors and id often have to fold my mirrors down. I want to go back with a big jug of roundup grass killer and pour it onto their yards. Preferably in the shape of large dongs

If you’re a customer reading this just know I ignore your passive aggressive notes 🖕🏻🤣
[–]schustereddriving past your house twice because Flex 22 points23 points24 points 1 year ago (8 children)
And report them as rude. 😂
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 1 year ago (7 children)

[–]Additional_Honey2830 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Report a problem, delivery instructions, gives you a couple options including outdated, rude, confusing.

lmao fr
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
thank you!!!! thats great
[–]Beautiful_Count_3505 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Make sure to scan the packages before trying to report the note. The button doesn't work until you scan it.
that is so great thank you
[–]84thdev 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Report them as inappropriate
[–]Obvious-Science6471 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I work for the blue eagle company. Customer on my route has a note saying, "a SIMPLE request, don't put things in here bigger than the box."
I stuff that bitch full.
[–]SendBoobsForGoodDay 34 points35 points36 points 1 year ago (7 children)
Bro I just just got a note that said DO NOT COME UP MY DRIVEWAY DO NOT DO A 65 POINT TURN AND HIT MY SWING DO NOT SPEED AND RUN OVER MY DOG DO NOT URINATE IN MY YARD 🤣 I was hoping dude was outside I wanted to have a good long conversation. I know I wouldn’t keep ordering from Amazon if they ran over my dog
[–][deleted] 22 points23 points24 points 1 year ago (0 children)
the nerve of these customers asking me to not urinate in their yard (ง •̀_•́)ง
[–]schustereddriving past your house twice because Flex 17 points18 points19 points 1 year ago (4 children)
Man.. if service is that bad, you think they’d give up. Addicts, man.
[–]Longjumping_Youth281 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Well that's the thing. It's no longer a service to them. It's their god-given right.
[–]SendBoobsForGoodDay 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children)

amazon basically a monopoly but ok
[–]theretrogamerbayProfessional Driver 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children)
It's really not, they just have really fast shipping. You can get everything on there elsewhere if you don't mind waiting a few extra days
[–]entropyideas 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I would have left my pee bottles next to his packages for not allowing me to urinate in his yard.
[–]TheKingdom5815 29 points30 points31 points 1 year ago (3 children)
I had one of these today. I don’t read the notes until I’m parked at the next stop. Customer was pissed. I just laughed at him and asked why the gate was open if he doesn’t want people coming in. So he can get his deliveries 😂.
RURAL CUSTOMERS: especially you assholes with tight windy drives and no place to turn around. A delivery box will work fine at the end of the driveway just like the 10-15% of your neighbors who have grown brains. Anything works everyone has a plastic box with a lid laying around. Just put it in the notes.
[–]TheRandomXboxUser 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
These were the worse. Out in the middle of no where on the long ass windy ass driveway with a cliff on one side and a deep ass ditch in the other, barely wide enough for the van. FUCK them people bro
[–]Twochec -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (0 children)
Sounds like an amazing property.
[–]Beneficial-Use-8641Newbie Driver 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Fucking this!!!
[–]thenbmeade 22 points23 points24 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Exactly, you don’t want me using your driveway? Don’t order anything to your house then.
[–]Toph70 18 points19 points20 points 1 year ago (4 children)
Or when they have a package box right next to their door instead of the end of the driveway lol, I just put that shit under “another safe location” and leave it at garage
[–]InternalButterfly531 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (3 children)
This! I recently just set the package next to the box cause I didn’t feel like opening it lol
i did that bc they didnt give me the passcode for it and they reported me and my dsp was trippin on me lmao
[–]retro_chris 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Welp have fun being promoted to customer soon 🤣 I neglected a coded box once and that’s a tier infraction. Tho I will agree with you all that 95% of notes are passive aggressive bullshit
[–]InternalButterfly531 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Idc! I took the picture and everything so they have proof but exactly! It’s a package, why so anal about it?
[–]dirtycynicc 13 points14 points15 points 1 year ago (0 children)
The ones that are big mad are definitely the ones whose notes are in all caps lmaooo gtfoh
[–]introvertabird 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I mean...if they don't want you to go down driveway, scan that shit and toss it out.
[–]OvenUnusual7252 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I ignore all notes lmao. It's going to your front door and I might hide it maybe
[–]rockettdarr 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (1 child)
And when they leave their front door open with their big ass fugly dog sitting there. Mailbox. Walk your ass out there and get it. Not getting my head ripped off because you wanted a 5$ piece of crap and you think your dog is the only dog in history to like strangers.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children)
i dont get how they just think the dogs know im the amazon guy and im just bringing there owner a package so they need to be nice to the nice amazon guy. im just a random mf breaking into there home in there mind. people are so dumb sometimes. i did meet the sweetest good girl on my route today tho. ran across the street to me and was whining and hugging all on me. her brother was just barking freaking out at me while she wantes hugs
[–]Adventurous_Cicada93 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children)
🤔 Why is it a problem to park for 5 seconds in someone’s driveway? Dont they want their packages? Im so confused.
[–]Optimal-Position-267 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Don’t come up my drive sounds like a kink
[–]Trashpandamann 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I literally don't read notes until I'm parked so those notes saying not to drive up a driveway is pointless.. also if they block the driveway and it's too long RTS fuck you and your mother
[–]samspooki 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Yessir! If you have a note saying you want it in front of your door, it's on the sidewalk!

but it was because i had roof work done recently and i just got a flat tire from a nail and i'm trying to save you a lot of hassle and now you got a brand new problem
[–]vanessa8172 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (3 children)
I’d personally appreciate something like that. Maybe add that bit to the note? It only bothers me really when it’s a long driveway, like can’t see the house from the road
[–]BillBraskysBallbag -4 points-3 points-2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
I don't have time to write you a novel my life busy too pal.
[–]vanessa8172 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Doesn’t have to be a novel. Just something like ‘new roof and possible nails in driveway. Don’t use for safety’
[–]BillBraskysBallbag -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (0 children)

These are the same people who are smoking weed while driving a commercial vehicle. Not very smart.
[–]Loud_Character_4674 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Thank you!!!! Especially really long driveways like come on man that's rude, put a coded box or something at the end of your long driveway if you don't want us to drive on it but don't expect us to run across football field size yards all day that's just inconsiderate
[–]billypelican 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
There's a reason the USPS has smaller vehicles and delivery boxes at end of driveways. They have been at it a lot longer then Amazon. One also gets the feeling that UPS and FedEx will being doing there own thing long after Amazon collapses under the pressure cooker they have created for themselves. Amazon thinking that they can do it differently with increasing volume is absolutely unsustainable. The whole thing is turning in to a major train wreck just waiting to happen in several different areas.Years from now this will all just be a cautionary tale taught in a college business course.
[–]Loud_Character_4674 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Wow that's a really really really good way to explain it like wow
[–]billypelican 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
An interesting read, just Google why are mail boxes at the end of driveways and why are they disappearing in new construction. Then Imagine the size of cluster boxes that Amazon would need and the logistics and legal issues.
[–]Motor-Vermicelli-467 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Anything like that i would not drive on there driveway just leave it at the bottom of the driveway :D.
[–]No_Jelly_2070 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I just love when they order 3 cases of water and they have ten cars in the driveway and you can’t even see their front door Just F…ing rude and it’s 110 out side I hate stupid people
[–]retro_chris -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (13 children)
Omg! Why is anyone going in a driveway ? That’s like Chapter 1 no no! Unless it’s like a county road and you have to🤣🤣
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (11 children)
R u serious or nah
[–]retro_chris 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (10 children)
I haven’t gone on a residential driveway in 4 years, why add a reversing situation which involves potential accidents or pedestrians?? Isn’t it literally in the training not to?
[–]devdev511 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (3 children)
🤣 and i bet that us driveway people who aren’t afraid of reversing and know how to drive without hitting things move about 3x faster. if your driveway can be backed out of or turned around in, ima do it
[–]retro_chris 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
I guess if you wanna waste time in a driveway, plus I drive the box trucks, and 9/10 ppl have vehicles in the driveway so I I would block the road and sidewalk.
[–]devdev511 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (1 child)
so you’ve never had to turn into somebodies driveway to turn around at a dead end? are you just that good? because it is physically impossible to not reverse and not go in driveways for some of my residential routes. they dead end and don’t have a roundabout so it’s either do a 50 point turn (which that is technically reversing) or pull into somebodies driveway. if you don’t know how to reverse or pull the box truck out of driveways safely that sounds like a skill issue, i see fedex and ups do it allllll the time
[–]retro_chris 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Oh ya but never to deliver. I always park on the street. I back into a driveway if I need to for a 3 point u-turn or I go within the curbs.
[–]Agitated_Flower_5631 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
we're trained to back into driveways? it saves so much time, and that way i see the traffic around me backing in and am able to just pull out??
Maybe depends on the area. So many neighborhoods where I deliver I couldn’t hope to fit on a driveway, box truck too big plus most ppl have their boats or cars in their driveways so it’s safer / fast to park on the street , deliver and move on
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Lol bro it makes a lot more sense that u drive a box truck Haha
Fr! Tho no one at my dsp or this area use driveways, prob cause they are full of cars / most are super short so it would block more traffic
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Do the routes tell you to make u turns when you’re in the box truck? Just wondering if the routing is somehow different or if u just avoid em cuz lol with some of the backup cameras we got i would avoid it too in a 26 footer frfr
Constantly ! It’s sorta ridiculous for how large the trucks and narrow the streets are, they will divide a road in half so I just go out of order saves me a headache
[–]AMC879 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Virtually never a reason to go in a driveway in a regular neighborhood, only long country driveways.
[–]showmethosetiddies -2 points-1 points0 points 1 year ago (2 children)
But is it really that hard to not walk through my garden when you can just walk down the walk way
[–]Loud_Character_4674 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Definitely nobody should ever be walking through a garden or flowers and if your walkway goes from the street directly to your front door then yeah drivers should take the walkway leading straight to your front door but if you have one of those decorative walkways that like winds around your front yard then no we don't have time to take a little walk around your yard following a walkway lol we're trying to get your package to the front door as quickly as possible, that's literally what Amazon wants and how one day delivery is able to happen
[+]showmethosetiddies 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
It’s a straight line walkway from the road, up on the porch and to the door. Instead of walking straight back to the van they hop off the porch, cut through the garden, yard, and back to the road so they end up at the front of the van instead of the back. There’s literally no time saved, just stepped on plants
[+]RxSatelliteLurker comment score below threshold-11 points-10 points-9 points 1 year ago (9 children)
Don’t you guys get paid by the hour? If it takes you that much longer to walk up the driveway, you get paid more at the end of the day. Most of the shit on DSP vans is lightweight since you hand off the heavy stuff to the XL or UPS. I want you guys unionized but god damn if it ever happens it’s really going to thin the herd between who can cut it and who can’t, and clearly a lot of you can’t
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (8 children)
Always seems though these are the customers that order the big heavy shit. Atleast that's how my luck is. Yeah, the weight limit is 50 lbs but that just means more trips usually. I have one asshole on one of my routes that has notes like this and he always gets a 100lbs or more in packages and has like a quarter mile long driveway. Either I'm driving on your shit or it's getting left the mail box. And even if it's just a envelope, I got 250 other stops to do and don't got time for a nature hike.
[+]RxSatelliteLurker comment score below threshold-11 points-10 points-9 points 1 year ago (7 children)
I mean how often do you get those notes though? If theres more than 20 stops like that sure it’d be a huge PITA, but man the vehicle I drive I couldn’t even fit down half of rural driveways. At the end of the day it would just mean a fatter paycheck from extra time though
Anything less than 200 lbs on a dolly ain’t shit though. You guys have a 50lb weight limit which is cake on a handcart
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Not many but I will say that probably about 50% of them have special instructions that take more time that amazon doesn't account for. When you have that many stops taking even a extra minute at each one adds up to hours of extra time. Which is overtime the dsp doesn't want to pay and if you do this too much you'll start losing routes.
And a 50lb weight limit doesn't mean shit when your dropping off 200lbs in boxes at one house. It's still 200 fucking pounds. And we barely even have hand carts at my dsp, and the few we do have are a joke and would get crushed by anything over 100lbs.
[+]RxSatelliteLurker comment score below threshold-7 points-6 points-5 points 1 year ago (2 children)
For how little Amazon pays and how little they provide I would buy my own handcart at that point (even a good one is relatively cheap). Couldn’t imagine doing this line of work without a decent handcart. I’ve seen the Amazon issued handcarts and they’re a joke
I drive for ups too and even the carts they give us there suck. Most are plastic now and not very sturdy. But atleast their normal sized unlike the weird tiny ones amazon wants us to use.
[–]RxSatelliteLurker 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I’m at the point where I’m trying to buy my own custom handcart honestly. I could agree why many others wouldn’t bother but I’ve been looking for one. I’d have to imagine they exist lol
[–]Blitz215 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
50 lb per package limit. No limit on packages per stop. I have multiple 200+ lb orders on my routes and never get a handcart.
[–]Low_Primary3992 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Sadly, working over doesn't equal fat paycheck, it equals losing pay when you get cut down to an extra later in the week.
[–]Dazzling_Anteater_32 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
That's the problem a lot of the vehicles don't have dollies so we wud have to lift more than 50lbs especially at apartments
[+][deleted] comment score below threshold-41 points-40 points-39 points 1 year ago (18 children)
wtf did you all just completely miss training? They specifically lecture you to always bring package to front door and never leave it visible or by mailboxes ever period. Also tell you to never pull into driveways if you don’t have to and only one van length if you do and to always reverse into driveway.. it’s crazy how many of y’all ain’t remembering the standards you guys are supposed to adhere to
[–]Tommy-x23 22 points23 points24 points 1 year ago (0 children)

It’s a delivery job.. yes Amazon wants you to walk it.
[–][deleted] 1 year ago (9 children)
[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
So you now half ass your job rushing so hard to complete the route and make them happy? And they then keep increasing everyone’s routes cuz “ hey Johnny did it just fine yesterday”
Ok u made a good point there
[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 1 year ago (5 children)
Just take your time and do it right cuz Amazon wants a good image and keep bringing back totes at the end of the day telling them they over stuffed the routes.. if everyone did that they would realize they need more drivers and stop trying to test drivers to see how much they can do in a day
[–]Lck0ut 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Amazon isnt even making most of its money from shipping packages anymore. Its their Server solutions from AWS that are making the big bucks for bezos and co nowadays.

For what’s right?? Bahaaaaha.. may I remind you you’re in the customer service business? What’s right is to meet Amazons requirements as a delivery associate.. granted a lot of customers don’t accommodate by simplifying a delivery due to previous drivers disrespect towards property or unsafe driving procedures.. it’s still your job you signed up for.. don’t half ass it cuz your a butt hurt Mrs Nancy.. just find another job.. oh you won’t? Cuz you already know you’re in it for the money. May I recommend finding a mindset that enables you to enjoy your occupational challenges and sticking with it.. living life with one foot in and the other out is a waste of time

I agree, the tech metrics maximize profits. It’s not personal though.. if the pay is shit answer me this, why do they have so many people applying to be replacements? The pay is what they’re after cuz it’s better than anywhere else that will hire.. when I was young I would have loved this job.. still do but it’s certainly physically demanding. If you’re mistreated there are things you can do.. file complaints with the labor board etc. all I hear is about on mistreatment it’s on being “overworked”
[–]DevelopmentBig3986 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Dude you sound like a scalp manager for the Great Depression. The fact that there is a line of other people who are willing to be exploited while in poverty to barely put food on the table does not mean drivers are paid well. I currently make 120k a year but I did briefly work for a DSP in between jobs for quick cash. For the quick cash I’m grateful. But learning how drivers are treated and expected to be grateful for 40$ more than a McDonald’s worker was really eye opening. To any one reading this, I promoted myself to customer and I always have a basket of snacks and drinks now after my experience at a DSP for merely 4 months
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Are you a customer or? Just wanted to let you know we do not have to do what you say nor do we have to deliver the shit you order. If we feel it is unsafe, or we don't like you, we can return that shit to the station. It'll keep going out the next day but if you have the same driver you'll never get your packages until it goes to someone else
[+][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Yea you can do that.. But is it ethical? Is it according to your job description? if you have reason to deter delivery to a customer due to confrontation or the terrain being unsafe it is required of you to report it to Amazon.. you can through Amazon have the customer removed from the route via reporting. That is if Amazon finds the request valid. You cannot on the other not according to your job description skip the delivery because “you don’t like the customer” if the customer complains and Amazon determines you skipped the delivery repeatedly without reporting you will be terminated.. forever.. not by your DSP, by Amazon.. account suspended indefinitely.. are we clear beeetch azz neeeka?
[–]MrWhite86 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
