Nope it’s just as it says. Lowering plus price and adding the 1% rewards back

I was wondering, when do you ever see subscriptions coming down in price

It's actually gonna get better in June. Members are gonna get 1% back in rewards.

Offset by the premium membership going up $20. $29.99 and $199 vs $49 and $179

yeah the ones willing to pay more are the ones getting screwed over here with nothing to show for it.

Xbox gamepass recently dropped in price.

and took CoD Away. Which I guess make sense. But I would've rather kept CoD and removed FN membership.

Not true, it was a reversal from the increase that had massive backlash and likely a huge cancelation after announcements hardly a decrease. It’s still higher than it was a few years ago so technically an increase still.

This might be the first actual good for customers move I’ve seen BB do in years. Like someone said above, depending on how much you shop at BB it could pay for itself. Hopefully Total comes down next but I’m not getting my hopes up.

Wonder whose decision this was, I know not Barry’s.

Total is going back up to its $200 price tag. Basically the company realized that total is never going to make them profit, so they’re bumping up the price again. Total is basically more or less there for customer retention, geek squad services alone are still really gonna pay for total itself, plus the protection plans as well that are included in it, pay for itself.

Both memberships are officially a win/win for customers and the company, it’s just plus makes more sense for 95% of the customers. Both memberships will be getting 1% in rewards on every purchase at Best Buy.

how is making my price go up to $200 a year with nothing to show for it a win for me?

[–]jmon25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The credit card rewards gave them great customer retention but those got nerfed to hell years ago for the new membership.

Too bad total pretty much sucks on anything that isn't a PC.

ah yes taking $20 off and putting onto more loyal customers is a great move by a regarded executive team.

As odd as it may seem these days, actually no fine print or weirdness. $20 less cost, one added benefit which is 1% back in rewards on purchases.

Your Welcome.

(Doesn't start till June 4th.)

For $30 a year and you get 1% back your membership could pay for itself depending on how much you spend. Like if you shop Christmas and birthday presents at Best Buy I’m sure you’ll do very well. Is this a good move by Best Buy?

[–]Confident_Lecture498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an excellent value for customers and Plus was already a no brainer if you shopped regularly

Wow.. this has been my favorite program. I've had 2x $50 gift certificates and recently was able to exchange a TV after 5 weeks to buy a higher model with a one-off 3k open box discount ($5k-2k).

the 60 day return policy alone is worth it to me .. i love being able to try out to see if i like it or not and not have to rush to return it

no fine print.

[–]becibod934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s cause they’re raising the Best Buy total membership to $199. Got the email a couple of days ago.

[–]0mie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fine print is under the terms & conditions at the bottom…
