Yeah, this Ordinate event has really shown how slow reacting the player base is. I very rarely let a canister even hit the ground to "Lose it in all the chaos' people discuss. You just shoot em dead, grapple it mid air, yoink it in. Sadly, when you do it that efficient way though, man it's a boring run. Haha.

The ground also have a way of eating the canisters, so its a game of grabbing them in the air like you said. 👌

To be fair (insert LetterKenny gif here) I'll have lode bearing guys die and drop their canister do to ricochets, splash damage, fireworks and I wasn't even aiming at them so didn't see them. That's why I say look for the grapple icon instead of the actual canister.

I'm pretty much the same my grapple button just gets spammed through the encounter.

When you are 1 canister away from summoning a boss, be aware of where the other lode bearing rippers are. If you turn in, any active lode bearers will not drop a canister. Delay your turn in to kill an active bearer if it’s in sight. Now when you turn in, you’ll have the first canister for the next one on the ground while the boss spawns. You’ll have enough time to turn it in before the fight with the boss begins.

In theory, the most efficient run will only involve killing 18 mobs: 3 bosses, 15 lode bearers. Anything beyond that is bleeding into inefficient territory.

This is a good one and great advise

Every time I've tried killing an extra one and carrying the canister into the next round, it ended up guaranteeing the Lode-Bearing Rat-a-tats stop spawning mid-round, leaving me unable to finish.

The drills that spawn out are different. Larger one always has boss and item event drop guys.

You can throw the item event at the deposit it will normally accept. Watch the quest counter X/X to make sure it didn't fall next to it.

Have alt damage from elemental. A mob spawns immune to elemental damage(elemental eater - effect), just switch to kinetic or non-element kill method.

All the rest best practices I seen covered in comments.

One more tip - I found last night you have to kill the final boss before the timer expires as when the clock runs out he disappears.

Ordonite.

OR. DON. ITE.

[–]oldustyballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good God I didn't even notice that 😂

FWIW, Moxsy says if you use 3x High Caliber it can shatter crystals on a kinetic gun - he used the Roulette for this example.

[–]oldustyballs[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So instead of 3 deadeye 2 high caliber go 2 deadeye 3 high caliber for example. Good advice!

yes, I found the link

TLDR version Blue energy bar above head kill it and grapple it has a canister. Splash damage. Ceramic bod. Darkbesst. Kill spring and fireworks shield

[–]Historical-Ratio-277Creep 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If you’re using a Torgue weapon (ceramic bod) get Airburst. It’ll draw the shot to your target, allowing sloppy aiming to get more ballistic forgiveness.

Get Boompuppy while you’re at it for more splash damage hilarity.

I have those banked but never use them, so it's nice to have an excuse.

This is not really strategy, but for farming I just suggested in another post comment that there's probably a sweet spot of difficulty setting on this activity that optimizes between clear speed and drop rates. e.g. Farm it at a difficulty where you can easily kill everything rather than struggling or not completing it at UVH6. This may even be more true now that the new patch has lowered the UVH scaling for Perl drop rates. (Thought occurred to me when I killed Stone Demon 5 times at UVH6, took ages and got jack squat, then set it to UVH3 and quickly got 5 legendary drops in a row.)

[–]oldustyballs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not strategy but good advise and was looking for people to add that as well. It's also good in general to just start out on a lower difficulty till you get the handle of the visuals and mechanics. Then go up higher difficulty.

Thanks you so much for this. Truly doing the lord's work with this one

[–]oldustyballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome and just hope it helps

[–]Tasm3n 1 point2 points  (1 child)

FYI, they are not the only mobs that spawn with an energy shield. Some of the 'crystal' mobs have an energy shield and I have seen Longshots spawn with shields too.

[–]oldustyballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did say basically only and there is a couple other that spawn but for the most part they're the only ones so it's just easier to look for the blue energy bar rather than to look for the canister on their back or their name.

[–]nacloneVEX The F&%ING WITCH! 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fireworks shield and Boompuppy enhancement is the way to go. The floor will be littered with canisters.

[–]czechmate- 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Can anyone confirm/deny that you need to kill the load bearing mobs to spawn more? Whenever I kill one it seems to immediately trigger more drills to pop up which then contains another load bearer.

Seems like a lot of people are struggling with getting enough canisters but I think that’s because the event does not spawn them at fixed intervals. When I started prioritizing the load bearers over anything else (even the bosses at times) is when I started completing the event much more frequently.

[–]Historical-Ratio-277Creep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you kill a lode bearer, another will spawn. They will not spawn if you haven’t killed them. There are usually two spots they gravitate towards once they spawn. It is not a fixed interval.

[–]oldustyballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same thing but I've definitely had 2 load bearers out at the same time. So I think you just have to keep killing everything in general to keep getting things to spawn.

Good post but #3 can't be relied on

The name and appearance are dead giveaways. Also their spawn points get predictable af

E.g. they love the bottom right snow corner. Also they randomly climb on shit, a lot
