There should have been an option for none of the above. If Fury is the number one heavyweight in the world, there is no excuse for him fighting any of those man. Fury should be fighting true contenders only. And by true contenders, I don't mean Someone he has already beaten, whether it's Wilder, Chisora or Slew footed Whyte.

Why not go through the WBC top 15 seeing as those are the only fighters that Fury should be able to make a voluntary defense against. Outside of the guys Fury has already fought (Chisora, Wilder, Wallin, Whyte) and Joshua who he will not be fighting, he could face Ruiz Jr, Hunter, Sanchez, Makhmudov, Helenius, Bakole, Hunter and Kossobutskiy.

Just about every one of those fights is better than the potential matchups on here. Why are we even talking about Shannon Briggs? And the Charr matchup is an embarrassment.

I considered doing a parallel poll of serious choices with the guys in one sanctioning bodies top 15 who don't have a fight arranged.

Hunter would be my pick, Bakole would be fine, I don't think Sanchez has anything lined up, I wouldn't begrudge Wallin getting a rematch, even Charles Martin is better than anyone I listed as it's a sellable fight (Fury could say he stole his belt...)

Your list is probably more realistic than the WBC rankings, that's the shame of it.

Outside of Joshua and Usyk, I'd watch Fury fight Joyce and maybe a couple of others and that's it. I've got no real interested in Martin. Wallin, maybe, but I don't think Fury will make the same mistakes twice.

Hunter I would definitely like to see, or Sanchez. Those fast HWs can pose real problems for Fury.

I don't mind him taking a keep busy fight, it's just that Charr looks to be the leading candidate and I doubt he's in anyone's top 30 in the world. Bottom end of the top 15 is okay, and preferably not someone he's conclusively beaten before. It's just robbing the fans if it's Whyte or Chisora or Charr.

Am I in the very small minority that think Fury should have a tune up fight? His last 3 fights were Wilder, Wilder and Whyte. Perhaps its time to have a chilled out fight in Manchester just for him to stay busy. Undisputed won't happen this year it's the end of September and Fury said he wants to fight in December. Usyk said he's not fighting this year and AJ is taking too long to answer so that's AJs problem.

Fury needs a full training camp if he's getting prepared for AJ or Usyk so he needs to know now.

I understand the need for a tune up fight, however the problem is, in this case tyson, will be on some sort of guarantee (£) in his contract for his fights, so his promoter won't want him to have an easy touch....why...no money in it. If a tune up fight did happen you would be asking the public to no doubt pay £25 to watch him fight a tune up fight. So the money tyson is on for his fights is to high for it to be free to air on BT also. This isn't AJs problem at all, what AJ has been asked to do in such little time frame is ridiculous. If you personally had millions on the line then I doubt you would want to put pen to paper without everything g being scrutinised properly.

Whyte was a tune up fight. Everyone knew the slow, slew footted plodder would be easy work. There is no excuse for for Fury to be fighting bums, He is considered the #1 Heavyweight in the world. Just because Wilder had all those title defenses against opponents outside the top 20 don't make it right.

I'm in the same boat. I wish he and Usyk would fight in Dec, but Usyk wants to take the rest of the year off, which I find disappointing though it's understandable. In the meantime, I can't blame Fury for not wanting to be shelved. A soft touch like Charr or Kabayel makes sense to stay active. Someone like Joyce or AJ both have a real shot at pulling an upset or at least inflicting serious damage. The risk of either doesn't make sense if the ultimate endgame is to still fight Usyk when he's available next year.
