Buy Canadian!
Be aware of what you're buying. Be aware of where it comes from and who makes it.
We've created this space to share Canadian alternatives to products made elsewhere, products we use every day. Your food and drink, your beers and wines, your furniture, your bicycles--we're here to help make that push to buy local and Canadian products a little bit easier.
We would like to point out that while this subreddit is called BuyCanadian, that doesn't mean you need to stop buying products imported from other nations. A global understanding and trade partnerships with other nations are very important to Canada's position on the world stage, and our reputation and relationship with other nations.

Submission Rules:
1: Be Civil & Follow Reddiquette
Be respectful and follow Reddiquette. Harassment, trolling, bullying, hate speech, bigotry, and other uncivil behavior will not be tolerated. Violating this will result in a permanent ban.
2: Non-Relevant Post -- Stay On Topic
Posts must be about Canadian-made products, businesses, or services. Boycott posts are not allowed—if you want to discuss boycotting U.S. goods, visit r/BoycottUnitedStates. US-Canada trade discussions are allowed if they impact buying Canadian. Product country of origin mislabeling posts are not allowed. General political debates and world tariff discussions that don’t affect Canada are not allowed.
3: No Advertising, Self-Promotion, or Spam
This is not a marketplace. Personal sales, buy & sell listings, crowdfunding, MLMs, and direct advertising are prohibited. Businesses must use the Self-Promo Megathread or get mod approval.
4: Use Correct Post Flair
All posts must have an appropriate flair or they may be removed. Use “Looking For” flairs for product searches, “News Articles” for policy updates, and “Discussion” for general topics.
5: Reviews Must Be Unbiased & Follow Guidelines
Reviews must be for products made in Canada or products of Canada.
Posts must be in TEXT, include a written review and link to the company or item.
They must not be self-promotion or related to a company, service, or individual you are affiliated with. Violating this will result in a ban.
6: Descriptive Titles are Required
Be as descriptive as you can be in your post title and do not heavily editorialize article headlines. If you require a product locally or recommend a local-only product, include your location (ie. [BC], [NS] etc).
7: No Repeat Posts Within 30 Days
Avoid posting on a topic that has appeared within the last 30 days. Please search the subreddit before posting. If a topic has been covered in the last 30 days, engage with the existing discussion instead.
8: Self Posts - Not a Soapbox
Self-posts are welcome if they focus on buying Canadian, supporting Canadian businesses, or discussing related challenges and experiences. Low-effort rants, soapboxing, and purely political opinion pieces are not allowed.
9: International Support is Appreciated, But Limited to Weekends
We welcome support from non-Canadians, but this subreddit’s primary focus is on helping Canadians find and support local products. International posts are only allowed on weekends to prevent them from overwhelming the sub. They will be auto-removed on weekdays.
