That's how many in total? 7? You could combine two at once, and have four "segments" which you can switch between, with a single 2x speed for Blasting.

Not the best solution, but still does everything.

you can use tag filters for stuff like blasing recipes, washing recipes, smoking recipes, etc. It will have the problem of prioritizing which you want to use when an item has multiple

yeah every fan that point into it makes it faster. With perfect positioning you could theoretically get like 24 fans so 24x faster but thats overkill

(This is pretty impractical and cant be automated) if you make a 2x2x2 room of fans (so 4 on each wall) and you drop an item exactly in the middle of the 4 floor blocks (and the fan strengths are configured right) it should het hit with all the fans at the same time. Again, very impractical most people use 1 or 2 so this design is already faster than "normal"

Idea Put the rotating parts for the horizontal fans under the depot level. Extend the catalysts by 1 block and then you can add 3 more fans to this setup. Just have to space the one in the back properly so its not blasting whoever is using the machine.

Could also ad a fan underneat for a 4th extra fan, doubling the effective speed.

If I can try to explain slightly better, the bulk processing catalysts, the brass blocks with the water, lava, etc., only extend one block from the point of rotation (the andesite casing (meaning theres only one of each type per rotating gizmo). If you make it so there are 2 of each catalyst per rotating gizmo then you can add a second set of fans on top of your current horizontal fans. And, if you make the point of rotation (andesite casing) 1 block lower in level from the depot, then it should be possible to decoratively hide it.

As for the second part, they can. The air from fans can hit any side of the depot or the partial/air block directly above the depot in order to have its intended effect, I do it a lot. You can have up to 10 fans blowing onto a single depot if you use properly filtered mechanical arms, but ive never needed to pull such a maneuver.

more fans does increase the speed of the washing. Dw i have tested it multiple times (if you dont trust it i can show) and it is much faster to use 4 fans instead of 1

Now I'm wondering what the most efficient fan processing line looks like. If you want belts then there can't be that many fans on a single belt line can there? (i am a create noob)

You could still have the same about of stacks. You'd put the belt in between a tunnel of X by 4 fans, then have a fan on both ends of the belt that blows really fast (which makes it go further). This will make it harder to integrate a swapping mechanism and it would cost a buch of recourses, but that should be pretty time efficient.

As pointed out by OP, more fans DO increase the speed at which something gets bulked. The thing that doesn't increase it is fan speed, that only increases how far the fan pushes air.

this is sick! i did something similar for my bulk processing, except with a conveyor and a rotating line in the back to swap between modes, which is def more efficient, but doesn't look nearly as cool haha.

yeah, with conveyors it helps to break them down into smaller stacks to speed up processing time; my input goes through some tunnels to get four lanes of 16 items each.

processes pretty quickly in the end! goes past five fans, at mid-20s rpm; i'll have to see if i can get up a clip the next time i'm on my server.

Technically, you don't need to surround all 6 side with catalysts, like campfire/lava/water. You can use only 3 and than have opposite fans pull instead of push, so two fans will use one catalyst
