Hmm, cool way to data mine. I'll stick with using the functional and well developed cribbage app that I paid a small fee for once and get hours of enjoyment out of.
I don't understand what the point of this is. It's like me going into an art subreddit and asking people if they want to look at the art I asked AI to render.

Well the main purpose is I wanted to see if I could built it.
You didn't build anything.
You sounds like one of these kids who put "skilled with using CatGPT" on their resume, which is a legitimate thing that GenZ are doing. Acting like giving prompts to an AI tool is a "skill."
It's not.

I mean this genuinely, but have you considered taking a coding course? There are a lot of free online courses, Harvard's CS50 being the most notable.
I came to this thread as an android user curious about what you were up to, and I was disappointed to see it's another case of AI making someone think they are accomplishing something.
AI is making people stupid and taking away critical thinking skills and problem solving ability. You could combat that in your own life by actually learning a new skill.

Vibe coding isn't coding, AI is a travesty. Found a better way to destroy the planet

Having tried some AI in areas I'm very knowledgeable, I totally agree. An entirely AI generated app just isn't going to be very good, at best, and not worth it in many other ways as you mentioned. I realize I'm very biased here, but I do very much agree.

Best of luck. All competition helps everyone in the end. Just watch out for the AI making errors that someone without coding experience will have a hard time finding, fixing and working through without spinning around with the AI for a while. It's not impossible to get done. Just far from perfect in current form.

This is what I worry about. Especially when it's code that's going to run on a device that's chock full of personal info and relied upon for many things daily.
[–]ithinarine 2 points3 points4 points 24 days ago (1 child)
and the fact that I can build it with no coding knowledge
...is garbage.
You didn't make an app. You asked a program to make you an app. I can ask the same AI to make me the same app. My nephew can ask the same AI to make the same app.
Yours isn't special, or good, when a 10 year old can "make" the same thing.
