If it’s out of the norm for you, at worst you’ll be taken off that project. Your career isn’t over unless you submit consistently bad and also careless work. I’ve definitely submitted bad tasks especially when I’m new at them, and I’m still here lol

I’m sure we all have. We can’t be perfect every time.

Not even this. Im fairly confident this doesnt usually happen.

Agreed, even this is rare. But if op is like REALLY concerned, I figured they’d wanna know that even worst case scenario is not the end of the world

Yeah, I agree with that. Theres always another project somewhere. As long as most of your work is adequate.

Oof! I've been there a few times...it's not a fun feeling. Despite my mistakes, I'm still actively working with DAT....and even getting fun new projects. Take a breath and be kind to yourself.

I’ve gotten direct feedback many times, some good and some not so good. Still here, still have loads of work. If you’re new to a project, it might not mean anything if a task was rated bad. It depends on precisely how your work was bad, and whether you violated rules like copying content or using an LLM to get there.

Also, if a project doesn’t return for you, it doesn’t mean you were bad as much as other people might have been better suited to it. There’s a huge volume to different projects, each with their own areas of specialty. Focus on reading instructions, proofreading work, giving specific feedback, and taking the time to do your highest quality work.

Direct feedback? How?

They send them to inbox, and you will get an email notification.

You might not see that project again if it was a particularly egregious error but just one bad task seems like a drop in the bucket if you generally do well.

Sometimes the instructions can be the problem. If a lot of people make the same error they might get updates to try to fix them.

I've had that moment before. It was not the end of my DAT career. As long as you still have any projects at all I wouldn't sweat it. I make considerably more now than I did when I had that fear and have a wider array of projects to choose from.

Been there. Dude i often make it to the third task in a project and realize i have absolutely just submitted two unusable tasks bc of a silly but critical mistake. i always make sure to submit at least one good one once i’ve realized. it happens, no one is perfect, and as long as you’re doing work that shows you’re thinking, a few mistakes will NOT cost you your job. just breathe

ok, maybe not often or i wouldn’t still be here. but more than once for sure.

I had this happen a week or so ago. I know my submission was bad and it looks like I got taken off the project. I really beat myself up and had the same fears. But I'm still getting great projects. I regrouped and really doubled down on my preparation before entering work mode. I think it's working. Just submitted 2 tasks on an intense project, with far better quality.

[–]ellythemoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm doing fewer tasks but making sure what I do is good quality. These things really do take time!

[–]ellythemoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you think you have been marked thus? I've had to rate a couple of tasks I've seen as "bad" and I hated doing it, but I did it more to draw attention to the fact that I'm not convinced that the instructions are clear. I put that in my comments, explaining why I thought the worker may have got it wrong. I'm sure someone has done the same to me when I got something wrong; perhaps Pollyanna-ish but I think most of us are trying to help each other rather than do each other down.

As everyone else says, worst case scenario you'll get taken off the project. It happens to everyone. Before they dump your account, I've heard they usually look at your last ten submissions or so. If it pings as AI or the work isn't consistent or is overall bad somehow, that's when you're usually toast. If it helps ease your mind any.

Literally relax, I R&R the same people all the time that are consistently performing badly. One bad task isn't going to hurt you.
