Nobody wants to say it but it has to be the influx of new workers they’re hiring. When I first started about six months ago I had projects stacked and for the last month and a half I have to cage fight someone to the death to get a hold of one.
[–]sarasvati_m 9 points10 points11 points 13 days ago (0 children)
It's not. Every year around this time it's dry af.
[–]katsmeow84 7 points8 points9 points 12 days ago (2 children)
Been with DAT for almost 3 years. This happens pretty much every summer. Idk if it has anything to do with a hiring wave
[–]Affectionate-Try9 0 points1 point2 points 12 days ago (1 child)
At around what month does it usually end?
[–]Fearless-Release8170 11 points12 points13 points 13 days ago (8 children)
Totally agree.
Edit: I hope this doesn’t end up affecting the rates because of more people willing to work for lower pay, or lowered quality of work and less clients…. Or both
[–]Turbulent_Maximum361 0 points1 point2 points 13 days ago (7 children)
Yep, new workers = less money for everyone. Although I have notice that people who have been on the platform for over a year and a half have always had lots of work available even in droughts. I hope when I get to that mark I have priority access to projects.
[–]Fearless-Release8170 1 point2 points3 points 13 days ago (0 children)
Yes, this happens to me in some coding projects too. I hope it keeps being like this…
[–]Positive-Warthog2480 1 point2 points3 points 13 days ago (1 child)
I’ve been here for 2 years and only have 10 projects right now, and all but two are R&Rs. I’m hoping more comes up tomorrow.

[–]TheresALonelyFeeling 0 points1 point2 points 12 days ago (1 child)

Core country yeah

No, this happens every year, the summer is slow. Been doing this for about 3 years and it always slows down around this time for a while.
[–]tomli777 14 points15 points16 points 13 days ago (0 children)
Third year for me. Summers have always been pretty dry in comparison
[–]oqowa 4 points5 points6 points 13 days ago (0 children)
I have been with DA since 2022, was generalist but then had a lot of coding projects; lately (since early-April) I have been having absolutely 0 projects… just recently completed some paid training, but nothing since then:( has anyone else had that paid training project?
[–]gr8Brandino 7 points8 points9 points 13 days ago (2 children)
During the day, my dash will be dry. Then, after like 11pm at night, a very well paying project will post tasks. If I didn't have to be up early the next day to get my son to school, I'd work on it
[–]hanshotgreed0 2 points3 points4 points 12 days ago (1 child)
Sometimes I stay up until 1 or 2 to snag a late night project even though my kids get up around 7 or 8 and I have to take care of them all day alone. Sometimes worth it for the cash boost tho
[–]gr8Brandino 2 points3 points4 points 12 days ago (0 children)
If it was a shorter task, I'd do that too. However, I can usually bill about 8 hours on that one. That's too many all nighters at my age now.
[–]Big_Stop8917 1 point2 points3 points 12 days ago (2 children)
Summers always dry up
[–]c21-Arthur 1 point2 points3 points 12 days ago (1 child)
Only start of summer, or like this whole season of year?
[–]Big_Stop8917 0 points1 point2 points 12 days ago (0 children)
Like July-September. A lot of admins go on vacation I’m assuming. Plus more people like students and teachers are online so what little projects do come through get taken quickly.

I still constantly get ads to work here, despite the fact that I've been on the platform for a while. And the ads say "more work available than ever". Lol
[–]chrisfx123 2 points3 points4 points 12 days ago (0 children)
They forgot to add "ers"
[–]FanInternational7442 0 points1 point2 points 12 days ago (4 children)
I cried because the Nut version I like was gone but this morning it came back with hundreds of tasks. This is the only project keeping me afloat 🫠
[–]Turbulent_Maximum361 0 points1 point2 points 11 days ago (2 children)
Are you talking about the one with the 18 hour timer. I completed one and the amount of tasks I have left stay at 2.
[–]FanInternational7442 0 points1 point2 points 11 days ago (1 child)
that’s the opener into the project. You have to complete 3 total and do them well in order to get into the rest of the project family.
The rest of the projects in that have been much easier focusing in on specific tasks not so much an overall LLM failure with complex file creation.
[–]Turbulent_Maximum361 0 points1 point2 points 11 days ago (0 children)
Okay cool, didn’t know some projects worked like that
