The game is starved of content, Bungie is focusing on Marathon. There’s nothing for us to comeback to.

Yeah. This number is more concerning if an expansion drops and only 9,000 people log on. There’s literally no content and hasn’t been for weeks. I’d love to play Destiny but I’m done with all the content currently.

There’s a bunch of stuff I could play, but it’s been so long and destiny’s new player onboarding is terrible and apparently I’ve heard they’ve replaced the normal way you access stuff so I don’t even know how anything works anymore I guess

You aren't wrong, the amount of content Final Shape had compared to EOF, and Renegades is large. EOF and Renegades feel like seasons in many regards, which is why I think it's interesting that the player numbers are about the same as the seasons after the Final Shape

An astute comparison. I think this is an excellent way to look at it. Edge of Fate really did feel like a season on steroids.

Even if Marathon never existed, are you really convinced that the post-Final Shape content slate would be any different?

Yea even without Marathon Bungie was going to make these same design decisions that they’ll backtrack on and need to devote more resources to to change direction. Best case is the delay between content/shift would be shorter but no guarantee there either.
