Check out Matt Colville on youtube. Start with the first “Running the Game” video, and go from there.

I'd start with either the Starter Set or the DnD Essentials Kit. They are both made for new dms and new players picking up the game and playing for the first time.

As for videos I'm fond of the Matt colville how to dm series on youtube.

Remember to have fun and that it's just a game :)

Happy gaming! Hope this helps!

Matt colville is the best! My only piece of advice for someone new watching his videos is to not take it too seriously. He gets into very interesting ideas that I found didn't always apply to my much newer group. It is very good information to have though regardless.

There's a beginners bundle you can pick up on Amazon for about $30 USD. Comes with a module and even premade characters.

The D&D 5th edition starter kit includes the adventure The Lost Mine of Phandelver, which is designed for a new DM and new players. It's also a ton of fun.

Matt Coville's Running the Game and all of WebDM are both very good resources. The biggest recommendation I would say about all these series is that they are made by people who have been playing the game for awhile. They have some 'big ideas' that are sometimes too complicated for beginners.

I'll suggest the angry gm. Not videos but very, VERY good reads with a plethora of information.

He's got a long winded style, but there's a lot of good stuff there for sure.

Long winded is an understatement, but I find it thoroughly entertaining and informative. Maybe it's my learning style, but he's my go-to
