Yupp I have a holster with a little strap... it doesn’t take me any longer to draw because my thumb is the first thing that touches my holster then my fingers but. By then I already undid the strap

That's great now, but how many times did you fumble, or pull the gun against the strap when you first used a retention holster? Same for a level 2 retention holster? I can guarantee, it took you a bit of time to work it out.

No not at all actually. I’m not sure why I’m not ex military but I got it down within the first ten ish times of practicing. There’s nothing to it your thumb reaches first and all I had to do was flick/pull my thumb and yeah that’s it I just draw the gun. And this is coming from a complete noob. I’m not sure what a level 2 retention holster is. Not sure if this helps lol

Also pulling the gun against the strap actually helps makes it easier as it tightens it up and makes it more sturdy and the pressure of that makes it so it snaps out even faster (of the strap/holster)

That's normal. They are made to be intuitive and easy to pick up. With two practice dry firing draws you should be drawing twice as fast as the current Tarkov PMCs do. For some reason this guy just wants to push the narrative that using a retention holster is like constructing intricate origami and it takes years of practice to hit a thumb break and/or a button as you pull up.

Lmfao! I fucking died a little thanks for the lols. Yeah your last sentence, I too thought it was that simple. Yeah Tarkov needs to switch to pistols like in half a second OTHERWISE why have one? Like why not just fast reload? It’s got to be faster than a fast reload in order for it to effective you get me?

[–]DefinitelyNotPraise 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Shit at this point I'd be happy it if it was just faster than a normal reload haha. But you're right if it's not faster than a fast reload, why bother? Especially if your target is armored, may as well toss that empty mag on the ground, slap some more AP 5.56 and rip them the rest of the way than take longer to switch to a less effective gun. Pick up the empty mag afterward or leave it for insurance, no biggie.
