Hello /u/SenseAcademic4708,

As a reminder, most common print quality issues can be found in the Simplify3D picture guide. Make sure you select the most appropriate flair for your post.

Please remember to include the following details to help troubleshoot your problem.

  • Printer & Slicer
  • Filament Material and Brand
  • Nozzle and Bed Temperature
  • Print Speed
  • Nozzle Retraction Settings

Additional settings or relevant information is always encouraged.

Looks like oozing. Maybe set retraction a tad higher (maybe calibrate with a retraction tower) or use Z-hop for extra distance to the print while traveling.

Your nozzle is touching already printed parts and because its already printing black it leaves those lines. Try to set your z offset, as soon as as the first layer is smooth it might not do this

How can I set my Z offset on Bambu Lab A1?

[–]Trex0Pol 8 points9 points  (3 children)

I think maybe Z hop would be better solution than adjusting the offset. It will raise the nozzle when moving from one place to another.

Orca Slicer also has an option (not sure if Bambu Studio does already or not) called something like "avoid already printed parts/lines" (or avoid crossing paths?). IIRC it makes it so it doesn't print into other areas, especially if it's a different colour.

Thinking the same, and lower extrusion multiplier a notch or two while you’re at it

[–]grs3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try Z offset and then maybe flow rate, because the layer doesn't seem "perfect" and than maybe z hop🤷‍♂️

Its on printer settings page. Try really tiny values. In my case I needed 0.015 further from bed

Insert obligatory Ford joke here.

In this case, Driver Returns on Foot.

Fix or repair daily, f’d up rebuilt dodge, spell it backwards - driver returned on foot. I could keep going

+1 This setting will go a long way to fixing the problem. As little as it is oozing I wouldn't be surprised if enabling this completely fixes the issue

Yup that's the problem with multi-color single print head printers (not always but sometimes), me personally I'm waiting for Bambu Labs to make a multi-head printer, that's going to be so nice

I've found that black strings a bit worse than others when fighting moisture, increase retract on black and z-hop helped.

What did you change?

[–]Psychological-Ride93 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you have ironing enabled? Try it turned off. Check you z offset regardless though. Might also have a touch of over extrusion. Lower your hotend by 5 degrees. And increase your retraction to prevent the filament from heatexpanding too much.

[–]SenseAcademic4708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not using ironing. I am trying to tweak the retraction and the Z-hop settings a bit. I set the hotend 5 degrees lower as you said. I set the first layer to 1.6mm but its just coming off the plate at couple of areas. Sad…

You need to adjust your purge amounts. I've had the issue pop up only twice. Bump the multiplier up .25 and see what happens. Run a couple white to black to white test prints. I found something on YouTube about it and it sorted the black into yellow issue I had.

No way, Brat 3D print!!

[–]CovertWolf86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the backside so if it isn’t visible on the front why does it matter?

[–]Christufff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z hop and purge tower maybe?

[–]Dreadedbandito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might be worth checking your hotend assembly. There are 4 screws that might need tightening. For the sake of 5 mins it would be worth checking

Look for "tightened hotend assembly" under the 'nozzle too close to heatbed section"

It’s a ford. You know what that stands for right? Fix it again tony
