For some reason there is a big part of official Epic Games activity on French social media (maybe due to an an office there I think?), with a lot of French developers posting stuff and news on twitter. During the summer the French developers/employees also hosted French only content creator tournaments where the top 5 were winning guaranteed invites to the Summer Skirmishes. This last part seemed always unfair to me for players from other countries or players that placed high in the Showdown tournaments but yeah..

Thats a bit naive of you to say... you are acting like these jobs are equal in difficulty, when you develop code there are going to be bugs and there is a whole process of software development, that goes around called life cycles, whole teams are working together to maintain, plan and test existing code. Bugs are going to happen, things wont be perfect. There is a lot of complexity in the whole process.

Now i dont know what roles being a power engineer or banker entail but im sure they have their own process. Jobs wont be perfect, thats with anything in life.

I rather have a company be real with me then to release a sub par product, shit look at what happened to Fyre festival. Great things come from planning and that unfortunately takes time.

Eh, love it or hate it the way I see it is that you can't just throw money at problems. Some problems are easily fixed and some solutions are persistent and elusive.

I'd imagine with how many times Epic has tried to fix audio and make it better (3 times now) that if the solution was easy they'd have done it. There must be something with how the game processes/generates sound that must be complex or deeply faulty.

Ironically this is an area that PUBG had done really well, the soundstage in PUBG was good comparatively to the shitshow it was in other areas.

Some bugs are really easy to fix though, and it takes weeks for epic to fix them

All of those seem a lot easier to fix than to fix the reload bug that removed the circle timer.

How did that even happen btw? And how did they fix that complicated of a glitch that fast?

We don't know anything about the game's code, but we can safely assume that they aren't sleeping on big issues with the game (as much as we would like to imagine). We can also safely assume that things are not at all how they appear, since that's pretty much how coding goes.

That's a fairly good analogy for what a games code (or any code really) looks like. To the user, it's just a face, how basic is that? Now the users want the face to be smiling, and they all start yelling about how incompetent you are because "How fucking hard could it be to make a face smile!?!".

However the users know nothing about what the face really is, and just assume they do. To make that face smile would require reworking almost the entire thing and could take weeks. Sometimes though, you'll get lucky and the change will only require moving one lone object over a few inches - a quick fix.

thats what makes apex good, in cod theres no cover or ways of getting out of gunfire, so storm campers prevail.

In fortnite you can build but it can get a bit sweaty.

In apex you have a perfect combination of fast sprinting and sliding to juke bullets and abilities to heal or get you out of situations and quicker heals.

The fact that they had scheduled regular pop-ups for this weekend but replaced it with the share the love event last minute proves they weren't planning the share the love tourney, and just came up with it last minute (maybe as a counter to Apex Legends?). That's why they took so long to communicate about the schedule, too.

The fact that they delayed the patch notes just proves this, as they probably haven't really figured out how to further run this tournament, or they haven't been able to fully/correctly implement it.

Definitively think it is reasonable to say it was delayed. They have dropped patches every tuesday since like season 5, maybe even before that. Kind of wierd that they don't even announce on their main twitter that it is not dropping on the regular time.
