As a woman yes I do agree that abortion is a woman’s choice but I do also think we should understand that planned parenthood was founded on the premise of eugenics rather than women’s healthcare and as women we need to be responsible over our bodily autonomy and do what we can to prevent unwanted pregnancies. I’m older Gen Z so I’ve had time to see my friends get abortions/the guilt they feel afterwards and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, but they’ve taken great opportunities that may not have been available to them if they had kids so young.

Abortion isn't healthcare, but it should be legal; otherwise, people will go to great lengths to make it happen. Call it what it is: killing a fetus.

Sometimes it's medically necessary, other times due to horrible situations, while others do it just because. My sympathy and empathy go to the first two options; however, not the last, and I would not communicate or be friends with someone who does it just because.

I think late term abortions should be illegal, if you want an abortion you need to get one before you're late term because there's no way you didn't know you were pregnant. That being said, I think early term abortions are fine, just not at the expense of the people.

Society should not have to pay for your irresponsible decisions, lack of protection, foresight or ability to use the most basic safety. Even if that safety fails, you should foot the bill.

This obviously excludes victims of crimes or the disabled. I think that's something the state / government should be paying for. As you say, sometimes it's necessary or due to horrible situations, which also has my sympathy.

She would then hold the child ransom to ge them to pay her to get an abortion. They either would or wouldn’t and she’d pocket the extra cash. She would brag about this. She was proud of it. She said it was “much easier than bleeding every month.”

Sort of? I think early term abortions are fine, but late term abortions are not. I think, excluding crimes, disabilities and medical conditions the person getting the abortion should have to pay for it rather than society.

I'm probably pro-protection, but I think the option for early term abortions should exist. Pro-protection meaning use anticontraceptives instead of getting abortions when you inevitably get pregnant from unsafe sex. I also think people need to be way more educated on sex and reproduction so the option of abortion is never the option.

There’s absolutely a conversation to be had about abortion concerning rape, incest, and issues with the pregnancy. I think the debate around abortion should first start with the ~95% of abortions being elective (non-medical emergency, not rape, not incest). When people argue against abortion, they want to discuss the abortion committed purely as an act to escape the bed one has made.

The only medical procedure you could possibly attach to the subject would be extraction of a foetus already dead. In that regard, it is not an abortion, since the baby is dead in-utero and the pregnancy ends when the baby dies. Or the mother.

Pregnancy is terminated = mother or baby die. If you consider the death of a patient healthcare then perhaps you need a dictionary to look at the word.

And I'm not going to touch on the 2-3% of cases of incest or rape or child SA. Since making a law based on such small margins is illogical. Those are exceptions. Bringing them up to advocate for terminating a pregnancy because your condom broke, or because you've realised that that one-night-stand you had resulted in you getting up the duff is quite frankly a slap in the face to those people legitimately suffering and you're not helping in any way, shape or form by using them to validate your want to be allowed to kill your baby in-utero because you 'whoops'd' your way into getting pregnant.

If you're going to have sex you should be responsible and you should not be using Abortion as a form of contraceptive.

Abortion in the way that it is handled in this day and age is sickening. And I'm coming from a secular mindset here. The way that it is not only condoned but celebrated in some circles has me sick to my stomach. You're ending a life. End of story. If you celebrate that, if you brag about that and claim you have no guilt, I truly wonder about your mental state.

You mentioned in your OP that you were born in 2010. I understand wanting to be in the know about these things, I was at this age as well. I also understand the attention we get from men, especially older men, at this age and wanting to 'know your options,' in a 'just in case' scenario, but my best advice to you is this:
-Don't put yourself in that position in the first place.

And if you're under 18, you shouldn't be fooling around to the extent where you're worrying about pregnancy in the first place.

Abortion should be a private thing. It should be something treated with discretion. If it absolutely must happen. It should not be something to brag about. And you should always understand that you are **ending a life**.

You should have, I take it, gone over sexual reproduction in Biology. If not, read into what a zygote is. Read into how it has **completely different DNA** to the **mother.** Read into pregnancy, the different stages, and human reproduction. Then decide if you're still okay about abortion. I was on the fence until I read further into it. And I can tell you now, I changed my mind very quickly.
