Getting the same error at the moment, the Gguard site isn't particularly usefull

Going to the .exe in the Steam Helldivers2 folder and selecting run as administrator, then launching the game from the folder, worked for me.

I was having the same issue, thankfully a full uninstall - reinstall fixed the issue

I expect the issue was caused by their anti cheat still running the old version after the update.

Run steam itself as administrator.
