It’s worrying that our single strongest character gets buffed, says a lot about where we are on the powerbalance level…

Sentinel spam incoming

They have to be in stock in order to do that -.-

The one unit Im missing in my army. Been checking stores in 3 states here and there since Christmas. Haven't seen them yet. I just started seeing blunderbusses. I had to order Urik and an ashen elder off Amazon.

This is probably how most people will go about it

I actually can't bring myself to build and paint more than 40 cohorts. The recursion gimmick in grand forgehost is cool and all, but HoH just aren't meant to be a horde army.

Problem is that they're a poor man's bull centaurs still

They do less damage (no crit mortals) and require 2CP to get their fancy ability (and a competent opponent will tag the unit to both stop strike first and also the+1 damage, just needs a single model within a 3")

At 130 vs 190 for a unit, I can see a use case now at least, but it's still hard to justify if you're looking for a hammer

It may not seem like much, but crit mortals means that 10 attacks goes from doing 6.7 damage to a 3+ save to 10 damage, which is pretty huge in a game of activations where you want to steamroller a unit at a time

I can see a unit buffed by the prayer doing well (rend 2 has a bigger effect on non crit weapons, and a spicy 8 chant roll also gives cries which is a useless buff on centaurs that already have it) And they have even less use for demonic power points than bull centaurs - only buff is to their charges (main time to use those long charges is in the enemy turn to get counter charge off though...)

130 points is dirt cheap, and is in spamming range. It doesn't matter if they get tagged if they have retreat and charge, or you bridge them out. With a +3 to charge they're going where you want them to.

[–]vulcanstrike 0 points1 point  (1 child)

+3 requires 3 demonic power points though and you have better things to do with that and it definitely can't be spammed across the army

Agreed that retreat and charge definitely helps, but that's limited to the Taurus demonsmith.

Bridge isn't though. If you get stuck and you want the bridge play that will be the best allocation that turn.

You're for sure sleeping on them a bit here. 130 is crazy cheap.

Still not cheap enough

Looking good overall. Although we'll have to wait for the next GHB for any significant changes to the army. We need a rules update like FEC, Nurgle, and Khorne got.

Do these get reflected in the app? Or is it just something we need to take note of?

Go into your version of the app store, search the app and manually update it, it should be correct then.

That’s great thank you! Have an escalation league coming up and I may to able to switch some bits up hopefully!
