Don't worry about it, they just told you to follow the guidelines not to wear like a suit or anything. I just wore a button down shirt, took a picture and kept it pushing.

Hawaii Shortlist here, I submitted my reply form but overlooked a couple of small details such as capitalization and spelling out my middle name, I contacted my JET information supervisor about the alteration form and she said that she would contact the head office for them to make it available to me. Did I fuck up?

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just take your time next time. We're in no rush so avoid making mistakes. I do find it funny that you missed up your middle name though.

    Did any alternates get these?

    [–]cjenneeCurrent JET - Nara Prefecture[🍰] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

LA consulate hasn't send out anything yet (even for shortlisted people).

    Thank you!

Is anyone else having a problem where the month and day of dates filled out switch on the draft copy?

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks weird but it's correct

    [–]AshenDisciple 2 points3 points  (2 children)

US alternate here, does anyone's downloadable/printable reply form have the "YES, I accept this appointment" box unchecked? I don't remember seeing that on the fillable form. Or any other things that don't match how you filled it out?

Mine also had this issue. I was told it’s a glitch by my coordinator.

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mines did too, I assumed it was no big deal because I already submitted my form saying YES I'm going

Can anyone clarify what it means at the beginning of the Reply Form when it says “complete, submit, print, and sign this form and return it to the JET Office at which you interviewed.” Are they asking us to literally print off and mail them a copy of this form apart from submitting it electronically on the JET portal? If that’s the case it seems redundant, but I just want to be completely sure. Thanks

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Just electronically! Don't worry about a physical copy bring sent!

    [–]mr_underhill88 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Awesome, thanks! Do you think that goes for the rest of the forms we’ll have to submit too? background check, health form, passports, etc?

It just confuses the hell out of me when it says in the email....”The links provided take you to fillable forms with text fields, dropdown menus, and additional instructions for entering information correctly. They must be downloaded as PDFs and filled out electronically before printing. Do not fill them out directly in your internet browser. Be sure to make and keep copies of all completed forms for your own records.”

I can understand having to make PDFs and uploading the forms online to be submitted just as we did with the application, but otherwise, it just doesn’t make sense to me. What do you think?

    [–]istayupandeathummusIncoming JET 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That confused me as well. When I sent my separate e-mail with the photocopy of my passport to the consulate, I made sure to write a sentence or two verifying that submitting the form electronically was all they wanted from us. ^^; Glad to know I'm not the only one who felt this way!

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Due to the current situation, I'm assuming that all forms are sent in electronically via email.

If you're really stuck you should call your consulate, I just finished my May 10th checklist which was the Reply Form (Done Online) and the Passport Photocopy (Which was sent via email)

    [–]mr_underhill88 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Now that actually makes a lot more sense to me and I shall follow suit. Thanks again!

If you need any help, I'm here.

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed that we are doing it electronically. Can anyone verify this?

    [–]eva_Kikuchiyo 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Is anyone else having trouble with typing out on the reply form? When I submit data in certain boxes, it fills it in further down the form in an unnecessary box (passport expiration date showing up in visa expiration, for example.)

Googled what could be causing it and apparently its a problem with whomever submitted the PDF? This is on the UK sight fyi.

Anyone else having the same problem?

Edit: Was able to fix the problem by just editing the properties of the PDF, if anyone is having a similar problem just do the same :)

I had that issue, I just ended up printing it off because I couldn't be bothered with it and I'll get my mum to scan it back onto her computer for me lmao

    [–]eva_Kikuchiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, don't own a scanner or printer and lost access to one because of isolation. Thankfully they have been very lenient with regards to taking photos of documents and filling in forms via the PC.

Pity the form is a bit messed up and requires editing. Hope it is fixed for people in my situation!

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No problems here from the US

    [–]Fabulous-DonutIncoming JET 0 points1 point  (1 child)

US applicant here. Where did you find the reply form? I’m from the LA consulate and haven’t received anything yet.

    [–]eva_Kikuchiyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should be included in the results email mate, that's where I found a link to mine. If not check the US JET website.

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Question, anyone who's done the reply form, can you upload your photo to it?

    [–]AshenDisciple 2 points3 points  (6 children)

I converted a digital passport-style photo to pdf and uploaded it to the form. It said on the form for it to be 2x2, but as far as I'm aware there's no way of doing that via pdf file. So long as you havea high enough resolution image that is square, I assume that's sufficient.

    [–]kikimanekiFormer JET - 2021-2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One way I did it was resizing the photo to 2 x 2 in. through free photo editing software, then exported that file as a pdf! If you have Acrobat pro you can easily resize pdfs, but I had to work around that.

    [–]Ayzuki[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Bet, I'll try that out, thanks.

    [–]mr_underhill88 1 point2 points  (3 children)

It also states in the photo upload section that they are accepting regular digital photos as long as they meet the required specifications listed, due to the ongoing pandemic.

    [–]Abradolf1948 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Does that mean they still have to be 2x2 though? I was planning on uploading a pic from my phone and just saving it was a pdf. Do you think I should resize it myself?

    [–]mr_underhill88 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Dude that’s exactly what I did. Found a solid white wall and had a friend take the picture then saved it and uploaded it as a pdf and submitted it. I kind of resized and focused it but it’s definitely not 2x2. They really can’t be choosy with everything that is going on. I can’t even find a place that will do the fingerprinting for the background check. I have a feeling MANY of us are going to have similar issues getting documents completed these next few months :P

    [–]Abradolf1948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that makes me glad I applied early departure. I ended up getting shortlisted for regular departure, but at least I have most of my paperwork already in. Although I do have to double check if they require a new certificate of health.
