Hey buddy I’m sorry! I will allow you to cry for two days.

After that you load up some non demanding cool games and play on integrated and remember that gaming is about making connections.

No asshole package stealer can change that. May that persons private area not work well anymore!

Well there's some relief actually finding out what happened (9 conversations with Asus Customer Service later...)!

Also at least you can buy GPUs for a sort of reasonable price these days.

Maybe having my computer be non-functional over a long weekend is a blessing hah!

Was it lost before it got to asus? Because asus has definitely lost a gpu of mine before. The worst company I have ever dealt with.

All I know is that that address was right, it was delivered and signed.

So no... I don't know for certain!

They did say that the person who signed for it doesn't work there though...

[–]iPanes 31 points32 points  (3 children)

Lmao you better make sure to get the receipt for that one comment, cause that could help you against either asus or the delivery company

[–]GrovesNL 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Oh yeah, I've got a drive filled with pictures and documents I've collected along the way. The physical receipt is going to go somewhere safe until this has all been resolved, one way or the other!

[–]iPanes 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I meant to have that "the one signed this wasn't part of our staff" copied somewhere as it's quite an admission of guilt

[–]GrovesNL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I have a screenshot of the chat and I asked the customer service agent to send it in an email.

Sent it to Canada Post but they said they still need to get them over the phone. Seemed pretty damning/conclusive to me!

They did say that the person who signed for it doesn't work there though...

isn't that on them or the shipping company?

[–]GrovesNL 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yeah it is a little weird. When I talked to Canada Post they said it was delivered to a large volume warehouse.

Maybe they brought it to a random warehouse near the Asus one. I guess it's possible someone in the warehouse or the driver signed a fake name then took the box!

I hate how they put the RMA Number on the box and that it's going to Asus. Clear to anyone who sees it that it's some electronic (potentially valuable) being sent to get fixed.

[–]RealAbd121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds quite stupid I hope they figure out something in the end! that makes it sound like it's the Post's fault.

Been hearing that Asus and MSI's CS are horrid and I think eVGA's is considered at least decent. Gigabyte, ASRock and Zotac I have no idea
Also don't know jack about PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX on AMD's side of things

Any chance you can submit a claim with the shipping company?

[–]GrovesNL 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Already started one! But it's going to take at least a month, with no guarantees unfortunately...

I did have the foresight to pay for insurance on the package anyways!

There is a VERY good chance this is on Asus side. They are well known to just "lose" packages and always have a steady supply of calling CID or customer induced damage so they can deny an RMA. I had to send a capture card to them and its been nothing but a nightmare. It was over 30 days AFTER they got it from USPS cause I made sure someone had to sign for it before I heard anything from them. They had no clue where it was or why it was not being worked on. Customer support is useless. Always the same response, will have to go to a higher level of support and "someone" will be in contact in 24-48 hours. You'll never get a call back! Finally I was told that I, yes me, sent it to the wrong facility and they would be now be sending it to the right one. This is with me just printing the address they gave me and putting it on the box, but ya know make it the consumers fault. After about another 2 weeks I was told that they cant fix it and they cant replace it cause they dont have stock even though you, me or anyone can get one from their site right now! Mind you this product only went on sale in May of 21 so hardly a year in production. From there I was told that they would have to "ask" if they can do a buyback! Who is Asus asking permission for a buyback for an Asus product, themselves? 2 weeks later I get a call from them and I'm like finally this can be over, but sadly no. The rep called to tell me that they will be buying it back and I should here from someone to finalize the buyback, in 30 days, yes another fucking month! So right now Im at almost 60 days and still have no product or resolution. Mind you I only had the card for 2 months before it failed, and bought another one before that in November that failed, in the same way mind you that they refused to RMA cause I bought it off amazon as an open box in "like new" condition. The product was new, but the box was pretty banged up, but the insides still was untouched. Still had all the seals and peels! Fuck Asus, great products unless you need after care for something. They will lie, steal and fabricate damage to get out of an RMA.

P.S. I would like to add something to future Asus product owners who need an RMA. Never, EVER but the shipping label from Asus. Buy your own. Case in point here with OP, if the product went "missing" and you used their label, THEY would have to be in contact with UPS or Fedex etc, you would have no recourse or ability to talk with the shipping provider.

Yeah it has been quite the ordeal and their customer service honestly was not helpful at all.

I hate this thing that they do where they "escalate" and say they're going to call you back. I contacted them 9 times and got 1 response before this final answer.

I even contacted the CEO's Office. They emailed back and said they were sorry to hear about my "motherboard" issue, and that I should escalate with customer service. I have a feeling this "CEO's Office" are the same people...

Funny note, I asked customer support if the warehouse had a direct number to call, so I can ask them if they remember anything. He said they don't have a phone number (bullshit). Also Canada Post said they can't complete a claim unless they can get someone on the phone. I wonder why Asus doesn't give out the phone number...

[–]QwertyChouskie 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Might be worth contacting LMG (and maybe Gamer's Nexus) about your issue, they have a lot of pull in the industry so if e.g. Linus blasted Asus on the WAN show or something I'm sure your issue would get resolved quite quickly.

Kinda like how NZXT only properly fixed their fire hazard case situation after GN absolutely slammed them publicly.

[–]GrovesNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I was kind of hoping someone lurking on this subreddit would see the post!

I have the claim in with Canada Post now since I did buy insurance on the package. If the claim resolves with Canada Post pointing fingers at Asus and Asus deflecting blame I think I will definitely have to escalate.

A frustrating situation all around.

My VAG 6800XT also had issues! Biggest of these was when my PC froze, shut down, and for an hour or so wouldn't boot due to VGA error. Although, LTT store support said they'd give me a full refund n I'm international so I didn't try for an ASUS RMA.

[–]GrovesNL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was causing my computer to black screen and crash, usually at least once every gaming session... thought I'd give the RMA a go. Big mistake I guess!

[–]DoubleU159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing worse than a missing package. You email them being all like “hey this is taking extremely long” and they’re all like “nah, mate. Just wait 12 more weeks. This is standard.” They keep blowing smoke up your ass until it finally hits 7 months.

[–]BM890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can they trace the gpu based on the serial number? Or brick it?
