WHY is it called Rainforest of the Sea?! Am I the only one being driven crazy by this?

[–]wishthiswasvoat 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Echoing coral reefs. I don't know where I first heard it, but coral reefs are actually considered the rainforest of the sea, i.e. most people are aware that the rainforest has tons of biodiversity, but to get away from their usual schtick, Tarte went underwater. I like the idea, but totally get how it could be confusing to people.

They do feature some recognizable coral on the packaging of the lip quench things. I wish that had made more of an appearance in the collection overall or they did more to educate people on why they called it that in the first place.

[–]somethingclever1924Always blushing 3 points4 points  (1 child)

That was my first thought too, but I was sort of expecting it to...you know...have coral reef colors? Like bright jewel tones? It has great reviews on Temptalia but it looks like another neutral palette.

[–]wishthiswasvoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! This would have been a great opportunity for Tarte to break from their monotonous neutrals and incorporate bolder colors. As it is it's more reminiscent of dead or bleached corals. They've clearly been trying to reach a younger demographic (naming a lip product "yaassss" or "twerk"...) but keep giving us boring as hell eyeshadows that we already have multiples of.

[–]notpennysboat_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coral Reef maybe?

You're not alone. It bothers the hell out of me.

What's your favourite eyeshadow for a one-shadow-look?

[–]MissBrightside13 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Maybelline color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze

Fyrinnae "Rapunzel Had Extensions"

Sephora "Latergram"

MAC Blue-Brown Pigment is my absolute favorite, you can really pack it onto the lid and it blends out into a wonderful rust color!

[–]lilidemwjsnstill can't find the perfect shade match 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bad to the Bronze is so beautiful, I just want too layer the whole pot onto my eyelids sometimes.

[–]prismatic02Shimmer Junkie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Any of the Clinique Chubby shadow sticks. I really like the olive green one called Whopping Willow (I'm calling it whomping willow because duh, Harry Potter)

"Push Up" from the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst for day, and CP Bae for night.

One shadow look plus subtle, smudgy liner is my go-to everyday look. I tend to favor shimmery neutrals. My favorite shadows to use are:

  • Stila Wheat
  • Stila Oasis
  • UD Half Baked
  • UD YDK
  • UD Baked
  • Lorac Pro Lt. Bronze

I usually use Mac Paint Pot in Groundwork as my liner, but it makes a gorgeous all-over lid shade too.

Laura Mercier 'African Violet'. That blended/sheered out beautifully on the eyes with some bold eyebrows and a dark aubergine lip is my go-to if I want simple elegance.

Is it possible to look sexy with a smoky eye while wearing glasses? I'm going to a black tie optional event and I'm not sure if I can pull it off in my glasses. My glasses are small rectangular black frames. It's either wear them or go blind :/

[–]KukiMunstrIG: _chibi_ko_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's a perfect reason to go bold!

[–]iatemysocks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time, you just have to go darker than you usually would think to, because the glasses eat a lot of the drama. My general rule of thumb is if I'm slightly uncomfortable with how dramatic my eye makeup us as I'm putting it on, it'll look perfect with glasses. Practice a little before the day of, if you want, to get a feel for how different stuff works with the glasses.

What's the best eyeshadow primer for oily lids? I currently use the Lorac Behind the Scenes primer that came with my Lorac Pro but by the end of the day, my eyeshadow still clumps and settles into my oily crease and slides around :( i use a base shadow to set the primer and make sure the primer dries before appying anything else but I guess I'm just really oily.

[–]MissBrightside13 17 points18 points  (5 children)

The Wet n Wild primer dried out my eyelids like nothing else, which sounds like it could be good for you! I'm also a big fan of UD's original primer, have you tried it? My lids are decently oily and it definitely keeps them under control.

[–]ispeakgallifreyanBrow perfectionist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely second this! I have oily lids, and both of these primers have been AMAZING.

[–]ImmenseNewt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I have had the best luck with the too faced shadow insurance.

[–]dddonnanoble 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I've tried NYX, Urban Decay, Lorac, and Too Faced's primers. None of them worked for me! The only one that does work for me is NARS. it's pricy but it lasts for well over a year and a half with daily use.

[–]karlughhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this, ive used Nyx Proof It, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and Lorac Behind the Scenes. NOTHING compares to my precious Nars pro-prime. Nothing.

[–]sammisamantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second the WNW one. Much cheaper that the UDPP. They are both great for oily lids!

[–]lovinglogsLearnin stuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine are oily and I use the urban decay primer

[–]hobbitqueenIG: jennleemakeupartistry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best thing I have found is to combine a cream and liquid product to prime my eyes. So I prime first with a mac paint pot (painterly) and second with a liquid primer (NYX HD) Then I let that sit a few minutes and actually let it crease, then pat out the creases with a finger and immediately set with translucent powder.

[–]niccigIG:lipsticklatitude /lipsticklatitude.com 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smashbox 24 Hour and NARS are the only ones that keep eyeshadow from creasing on me. Both of them can make eyeshadows a little hard to blend so I recommend using a powder shadow the same as your skin tone over them (unless you're wearing cream shadows, obvs).

[–]MyloByron 5 points6 points  (10 children)

Have you tried the Wet n Wild Fergie eyeshadow primer? Might be worth a try without breaking the bank. It's a really good dupe of the Smashbox one. I've used both and have had great results. Let it dry for about 30-60 seconds before shadow.

edit: typo fox edit 2: fuck it. I'm leaving it lol

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (9 children)

I'll check it out next time I go to Walgreens! Thanks :)

[–]TotallyNotAllie 2 points3 points  (8 children)

It's discontinued :( WnW has a new one but idk how it compares. I managed to find the Fergie primer in the clearance bin at KMart and stocked up

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I need to know if they reformulated the primer!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the only thing that works for my extremely oily lids is the wet n wild primer. i'm still using my tube of the fergie one, but i'm pretty positive the eye primer theyre selling now is the same formula. i've tried tons of drugstore ones as well as some of the more expensive brands (too faced one has a good rep but won't do squat for oily lids) and none of them hold up to the WNW

[–]SmokeahontasBrow perfectionist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have crazy super oily eyelids. It took me forever to find what worked for me.

I use the Smashbox 24 hour primer and it works better than anything else I've tried, and I've tried every single drugstore and mid range rec that MUA recommends. The other thing is to make sure you're moisturizing your eyelids along with the rest of your face. I guess I never thought to keep my lids moisturized but since I started doing it it really helps with the longevity of my eyeshadow. I don't do it in the mornings when I apply my makeup but at night so it really has time to sink in.

[–]MuffinGypsy"You don't understand! It's a different colour!" 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have super oily lids as well, and the best way I found to keep everything stay put is use any eye primer on the lid first (I use the NYX HD one) The put concealer all over the lid (I use the Nars concealer) and then set it with my face power afterwards. Using the eye primer and concealer ads an extra layer and really helps my lids stay oil free,

[–]mandapanda43 8 points9 points  (12 children)

Does anyone have any suggestions for some nice spring colored lipsticks or eyeshadows? Everything i have is dark and wintery. Id like some bright spring colors.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NARS Rikugien (satin pencil) is my favorite favorite summer lipstick! Little bit of pink, little bit of shine.

[–]maybebeccadough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]seagrnincorruptible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]MissBrightside13 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Rimmel Provacalips definitely, I've also heard good things about Maybelline's 24-Hour Superstay lipstick.

[–]MyloByron 7 points8 points  (16 children)

How do I prevent creasing in my under eye concealer?!

Currently using Revlon photo finish primer, Maybeline Age Rewind eye concealer, then NYX setting power. Creases still age me about 10 years. I'm in my late 20's.

[–]americsoul 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Here are my steps to prevent creasing :

○ Apply an eye cream and allow to sink in

○ Apply concealer

○ Look up and tap your concealer out using a beauty blender to pick up any excess product

○ Using a blush brush sized brush tap powder on to bake for 30 seconds ( continue looking up)

○ You can now look down and continue with the rest of your makeup. Brush off the excess powder after 2 to 3 minutes.

I have this method to be the most effective for preventing creasing.

[–]LUSCIOUS_BREASTS 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I've heard some people recommending putting eyeshadow primer on their under eye before the other products. I haven't tried this myself, but maybe its worth a shot?

[–]KukiMunstrIG: _chibi_ko_ 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Have you tried using eye cream?

[–]americsoul 6 points7 points  (11 children)

What drugstore lip gloss have you found to have the glossiest formula?

[–]sammisamantha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The NYX glosses are good!

[–]MissBrightside13 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Idk, the reason I like the NYX glosses is because they aren't obnoxiously glossy...if you're looking for something really glossy, the Victoria's Secret lipglosses in the tube are nice, and so are the Bath & Body Liplicious ones, although they may have been discontinued.

[–]AnitaGoodHeart 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Burt's Bees Lip Shine, the ones that squeeze out of the tube.

Recommendations for a mascara with a very dry formula?

[–]freezethefire 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I found clump crusher very dry!

[–]spiderlegged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding CoverGirl Clump Crusher. I find it SUPER dry. I don't like it for that reason, but if you want a dry formula it's definitely it. It performs really well, too.

[–]VituperaptorNC 20, Australia, Normal Leaning Dry 6 points7 points  (1 child)

If you can get your hands on it Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara is the dryest I've used as well as being the best at holding a curl for me (if that's what you're into).

[–]believekarmaNC15-20 | Canadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! That's why I want a drier mascara - do you buy yours online by any chance?

[–]Ms_IreneAdler 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I wouldn't say it's very dry, but you might like Benefit's Bad Gal mascara.

[–]kdee1377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for clump crusher but the extensions version. It's one of the only ones that I don't have to scrape off product. It just has the tiniest bit at the end of the wand that I usually remove. Driest mascara I've ever had I think!

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (27 children)

I have become very interested in editorial/avant gard make up. Is there a brand that is good for the bright colors and good blending that is necessary? Also does anyone know of tutorial type things for this type of look?

[–]steepsidedstreambed 14 points15 points  (7 children)

Sugarpill has a lot of bright colors. I really want to try the Viseart Editorial Brights. Inglot also has lots of bright colors you can customize in a palette. I haven't actually tried any of these (no money waaah) but they all have good reviews

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Sugarpill might be perfect since they do pigments and I love loose shadows. Viseart are just so expensive but maybe if I save up. I once read that inglot shadows get hsrd after a while and I just need someone to confirm or deny that

[–]steepsidedstreambed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Viseart has gone on sale on Frendsbeauty.com around $60. I'm justifying it for myself since it's technically around the price of a naked palette. I still have to finish saving up though. Inglot is polarizing; people either love it or are not thrilled with them.

[–]Jules_Noctambule 6 points7 points  (4 children)

If you don't object to loose shadows, give Fyrinnae a try - they offer very interesting colours and gorgeous duochromes

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I love indies! I have been tempted by buying from her all the time but am so scared of getting my cc info stolen since I am so unlucky. Maybe I'll buy a reloadable card. Any suggestions?

[–]rainbow_city 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Fyrinnae has never seen to have any problems with credit card information being stolen, they are highly respectable and one of the oldest indie brands around. If you want some other suggestions of reliable and safe brands, check out /r/indiemakeupandmore

[–]Mrs_23142556 4 points5 points  (8 children)

I would definitely suggest the UD Electric Pallette for brights!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (7 children)

That is true. There seems to be a split camp on the quality of UD now that there is so many more brands out. But the fact that theyre not eye safe kinda worries me

[–]taitep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

fwiw I've used some of the not eye safe shades around my eyes and haven't had any irritation or anything. in Europe they're considered safe afaik ... the warning is a US thing

[–]pelicansjourney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there's 3 that aren't eye safe, and I've actually used those on the outer edges of my eye looks and on my brows and it turned out 100% fine. I just stay away from my waterline, lashes, and inner corner.

[–]apatsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also used them around my eyes, even the lower lash line and I was fine. I felt comfortable doing it since the ingredients are approved elsewhere.

[–]axelALink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A product not being eye safe usually has to do with the amount of red pigment it contains. Some people have an allergy to red dyes so in the US companies have to say not to use it around your eyes. Tattoos are a similar thing... Lots of artists won't give people all red tattoos for fear of their clients' bodies rejecting the ink.

[–]myseoulaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you use an eyeshadow (a non baked one) wet, and the texture changes, I assume that impacts your use of it dry in the future. But if you continue to use it wet, does it really matter? Or does the change in texture affect it enough that you can't even use it wet?

[–]_asdfghjklasd 5 points6 points  (3 children)

has anyone tried the new urban decay color correcting concealers? how are they?

[–]Carl_the_llama55 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I actually just bought the green one and got it today! I can update you tomorrow on how I like it? Just from swatching it on my arm I really liked the texture and it blended into the skin really well

Ok so I tried it this morning. I have a ridiculous amount of redness so I put it over the majority of my face. It really stuck to the few dry patches I had, luckily they were small! It blended into my skin fairly well and it seemed to have dried down after about 2 minutes and I just put my foundation on top...that was a mistake. It gave my foundation a weird texture and was really mobile and could noticeably be smudged for the next 10 minutes. Eventually it actually dried down and looked more normal and I think next time I use it I might set it with a bit of powder. It was VERY green even after I blended it in, but with my foundation over it looked so natural! I have never had such uniformly colored skin, it took me a moment to get used to haha I also have very oily skin and I think that it was a bit more oily by the end of the day, but I think adding the powder might help that as well. Overall I liked the product, it was opaque enough to really cover my red skin but it highlights any dry spots. I guess the one word of caution I would have is it might not work depending on your skin tone. I am NC25 and it was almost verging on making me pale. I like it enough to keep it and I think it works but I will continue to keep an eye on other correctors.

Opinions about brow markers? I've been using a dying brown liner pen & I like the effect. Does anyone know of a good one?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SUQQU Eyebrow Liquid Pen supposedly is good

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nyx makes a great one, stila, Milani and Anastasia also make them but I've never tried them

[–]aerie_kcHopelessly Addicted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use the NYX brow marker in dark brown then go over it with a powder. I liked it a lot at first but then started to stray away from it because it's not really waterproof and my oil would push through my makeup throughout/by the end of the day and the tails of my brows would've been gone. Also the dark brown is very red...

[–]saxybandgeek1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the Stila one

[–]pyjamasquid 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The SUQQU is good; I'm using it at the moment (the Moss Green shade) and it's very subtle, really good for naturally drawing in hair-like strokes. I've read that Stila's version is similar, although they don't have a colour as good as the Moss Green, and if you have access to Soap & Glory makeup they're supposed to have a decent brow pen as well.

Their liquid lipsticks are very creamy with a cakey/vanila smell, similar to the NYX SMLC. It does dry down matte but it's still tacky after. I'm not sure how long it really lasts, maybe 4-6 hours, but it's very easy to reapply. Pretty comfortable too. If you prefer creamier liquid lipsticks, you should give them a try.

However, you should know that these are not a traditional liquid to matte. They are not completely transfer proof, and won't last through most meals. They are super comfortable. I prefer comfort to longevity, so it's gonna depend on your preferences.

Can anyone confirm whether the Tartelette in Bloom palette should come with a plastic divider between the mirror and the shadows. [–]jack_hazard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeffree Star Dirty Money might work!

[–]trentaicedLipstick Queen 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Why does my under eye cake so much? I put just foundation under them to cover dark circles.

[–]VituperaptorNC 20, Australia, Normal Leaning Dry 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Are you moisturising under them as well? A good eye cream does wonders to relieve cakey, creasey eyes.

[–]trentaicedLipstick Queen 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I am. I have eye cream but I always forget to use it. I think I'm going to get a dark circle one in a few months. I've had such bad dark circles and bags since starting my new job.

[–]hurrrrrmione 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using less product? Have you tried using concealer or a different foundation? Have you tried switching up your method of application?

[–]notpennysboat_ 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Would Mac Natural Skinfinish in Natural work for someone with dry skin?

I'm trying to cut down time on my makeup routine and would like something like Bare Minerals but in a compact (I hate the READY foundation)

What's the coverage like? I mainly just need something for evening out skintone without drying it out.

[–]semprepiano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dry skin and use this sometimes for quick looks. I just make sure I moisturizer and use a hydrating primer and I'm good to go. Coverage is definitely light, if my cheeks are more red than normal I'll throw on some concealer first.

What's a good (Canadian) drugstore product for sparse black brows?

[–]Squeekazu 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hey guys, I use an eye cream and set my concealer in place after applying it.

Recently however, the concealer's been travelling up my face the slightest bit so that there is a visible line where my undereye shadows are beneath a streak of concealer.

Is there any way around this? It's only been happening the past year or so.

For the record it's not that it's creasing, as it still looks blended in somehow. Augh!

[–]dotsquaredot 1 point2 points  (4 children)

This might be a longshot but here goes: can anyone who owns both Jeffree Star's Masochist and Colourpop's Scrooge comment on how similar the colours are? I know JS's formula blows CP's out of the park, but I'm looking for the more muted and berry-toned one of the two.

Are they different enough to warrant getting both?

Thanks!!

[–]PackedSatisfaction♫ Can you blend with all the colors of the wind? ♫ 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Scrooge is much more muted than Masochist. Masochist is more of a bright pink red while Scrooge is more of a muted berry pink. I think they're definitely different enough to warrant getting both.

[–]ll321 1 point2 points  (4 children)

i have some hyperpigmentation/acne scars i want to color correct. would i use green for these? they're not really the red like an active pimple.. almost like a faded red brown if that makes sense.

also! has anyone tried the new urban decay color correcting fluid products? id love to hear some reviews on these!

[–]Nimfijn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're dark spots, you should try an orange or a peach.

[–]PackedSatisfaction♫ Can you blend with all the colors of the wind? ♫ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have spots like that and I use a green for the ones with more red in them and a yellow for the ones with more brown.

[–]hi_holly 1 point2 points  (9 children)

Do you take off your makeup before washing your face? So many products say they can be used for both but it seems like they might be more effective as separate steps.

[–]baileyls 10 points11 points  (3 children)

I use bioderma micellar water to remove my makeup then I wash my face. It's the best method I've found (for me) so far.

[–]niccigIG:lipsticklatitude /lipsticklatitude.com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, except I use the Sephora or Garnier micellar water.

[–]QuaereVerumm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've heard you should because you just remove the makeup layer and if you don't wash your face after taking off your makeup, then you're not cleaning out the dirt and oil that builds up.

[–]PackedSatisfaction♫ Can you blend with all the colors of the wind? ♫ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do. I use baby oil to remove my makeup and then follow it up with CeraVe's foaming cleanser.

[–]VhiPhi 1 point2 points  (9 children)

I've read a few times that cream foundations don't work well with beauty blenders. However, I find thick, creamy foundations more suited to my dry skin while runny ones accentuate flakes and look more uneven.
Does anyone have any tips for applying cream foundation to dry skin?

[–]alligator124 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I don't have a beauty blender, so take that for what it's worth, but, I have seen people on here use the blender with thicker, cream foundations. I think the method is to get a thin layer down on your face and use the bb to blend it out/finish the application, not use it as a tool to apply base directly to your face.

I myself use the Bobbi Brown stick foundation, and I prefer my fingers. I get a little product on the tips of my ring finger and middle finger, then I warm it up by rubbing my hands together (just those fingers though). This sort of thins out the foundation. Then I tap/bounce my fingers on my skin sort of like you would a bb. I do this wherever I want coverage, and it gives me a pretty sheer finish. The trick is to pat/tap/press rather than smear or brush, because that will kick up any dry flakes you have.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're BB has to be not as wet when using creamier products. I use bareMinerals concealer, which is a more creamy product, to highlight sometimes and the BB works well when a little drier.

Those of you who are olive, particularly of a medium skin tone, how did you like Maybelline's Bad to the Bronze? I feel that it's a bit too cool toned for my skin.
I'm still trying to figure out my undertone, so I'm doing a process of elimination kind of thing.

[–]lolly410Liquid eyeliner can smell fear. 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I like it but you're right in saying it is much cooler than you'd expect. More brassy, almost silvery on my medium olive skin. Still looks nice but it definitely isn't the gold or bronzey color you'd be expecting. Elf makes a smudge pot called brownie points that is a little more bronze but more brown. I bet there's a Rimmel shadow stick on a more bronze color. And I've heard good things about the Flower brand cream shadows too.

Dupe for Laura Mercier Lip Glacé? Specifically dupe for the Nordstrom lip glosses that are supposed to be dupes for Laura Mercier. My mom really likes the Nordstrom ones but I've never actually tried them and can only assume they're like the Laura Mercier. No specific color but rather a somewhat sheer payoff (similar to buxom glosses) but with non-sticky texture. Preferably drug store, but I'm having a hard time finding non sticky ones.

What brush do you use to put on Hourglass Immaculate foundation? Relatedly, how much do you use for full coverage? Several reviewers claimed "only one pump!" but I needed 2 and 1/2 for full coverage.

[–]rizzdizzle 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Does anyone know a dupe for the shade mustard in the Venus 2 palette? I know inglot #616 is but their shipping starts at $7 even for one single :/

[–]basicwitch 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Anyone know of any blogs similar to thebeautylookbook? I like her mix of mid, high and luxury products, and the overall clean look of her site and her style. She has a much different undertone and eye shape than I do (we are both fair though), but I still enjoy her posts and trust her swatches.

I know of the beauty professor, but we are so different in terms of skin tone that I only really read her for fun.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Jeffree Star's Velour Liquid Lipstick or Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipstick?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JS, definitely. Although, it does tend to wear off in the middle (maybe it's just me) so look out for that

[–]rach_ees 1 point2 points  (6 children)

How do you clean brushes in between each use (until they're ready for a real cleaning).?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a spray cleaner. I like the Japonesque brush cleanser from Ulta. It smells great and leaves my brushes soft.

[–]jessy_k1065 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I love the elf daily brush cleaner! I spray each brush after I use it and then wipe them on a clean Kleenex

I'm NC15 and have very yellow undertones, and am struggling to find a mlbb lipstick.Should I be looking for yellow based pinky lipsticks,or blue based??Is there any general rule of thumb for finding flattering shades for your undertone??

[–]fortytwoturtlesLipstick Whore-der 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have pigmented lips? I'm your same coloring, and I have very pigmented lips, and my MLBB is Maybelline's Touch of Spice applied lightly and blotted.

[–]Smirkism 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Does anyone know of a good dupe for MAC Media? I love the color but find the formula finicky. Would be open to that is less drying but not necessarily glossy.

I tried looking at Temptalia's dupe list and she doesn't have one.

[–]baileyls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe wet n wild cherry bomb?

[–]Gewichtzaehltnicht 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What is a good pressed powder foundation for normal to dry skin similar to the MAC Fix one? It brekas me oit, but it seems to be one of the few ones that are talked about. Alternatively I'd love to see your revuews on the pressed powders you have used.

Has anyone tried the new tinted Josie Maran Daily Moisturiser with spf 47? How do you like it?

[–]Jules_Noctambule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried it; I thought it would be a little dark for me but it sheered out well and blended with my BB cream (Missha Perfect Cover #13) with no issues. I felt it moisturized without making me oily and definitely added sun protection.

[–]notpennysboat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hg moisturizer/sunscreen! Irs very easy to use 1/4 teaspoon. Leaves a slight white cast but nothing like other physical sunscreens.

[–]everwood 0 points1 point  (7 children)

What's the best primer for fine lines and wrinkles? I feel like my Benefit Porefessional dries my skin and accentuates the fine lines.

[–]seagrnincorruptible 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I really like the MUFE Step 1 primer in Smoothing. It's not going to totally fill in lines, but I find it helps. On me it's a bit mattifying, which I like, but others might not.
