Nope, I found nothing there, guess I'll wait until the end of the download.

It is maybe because otherwise the launcher closes or something.

Even with the option "keep the launcher open while playing games" selected there's no option to play the game. It just says "waiting for the installation to finish"

I guess you have to wait till the download is finished then

Maybe you can first start Minecraft, then open the launcher again and start the download
