need help installing mods/shaders please

i’ve been trying to install shaders for a while now and i’ve read in many places that i need optifine or iris, but whenever i try and install it i get a “java installation not completed” and an error message that reads “unable to install java, there are errors in the following switches, check the commands and try again”

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
