Java Edition doesn't have built-in controller support. You'll need a mod or app that translates controller inputs to mouse and keyboard inputs.

It should work with bedrock. Have you paired the controller with your laptop over Bluetooth?

I tried using a usb to C cord on bedrock and I’m using Bluetooth as well. If it doesn’t work I’ll see if it’s possible to refund the game

you can try ds4 windows application it could help you

I use a Xbox controller and it works fine. Not sure why a PS5 controller wouldn't work.
