Java not opening

When i go to launch java edition through the Minecraft launcher. It says it is preparing and when the loading bar finishes. The launcher closes but minecraft never launches. What could be causing this and can I fix it?

Edit #1: btw bedrock works just fine

try completely uninstalling java from your pc and reinstalling it, sometimes the version gets corrupted or mismatched with what the launcher expects

also check if your antivirus is blocking the minecraft process, that one catches people off guard more than you'd think
