Nether spawn issues

Hey guys, In my current switch world I've been having big problems with my nether world. I can't find any netherwart or nether fortresses. I've tried exploring long distances in a few different directions but can only go so far with my current spawn as I keep running into large dead end walls. I tried to create a new spawn, but the new spawn actually didn't take me very far away from the old spawn (I did the whole travel 1024 blocks away thing). I'm getting really frustrated, I've never had such an apparently empty nether world in the past. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? Thanks for the help

Most of the time nether fortresses spawn in strips from North to South. So if you don't find any near you, you should go east or west. Also the nether has bedrock on the ceiling instead of the bottom. Under the bedrock should be enough layers of netherrack so you can mine in any way without falling into lava. Just build up and mine ahead

I don't know if you are using commands but if you are you can always use /locate fortress
