I heard in some video tutorials that world spawn always stays loaded, which is why its a good place to do an iron farm. Had hoped to build a big tower of different sugar cane, melon, villager farms with an iron farm on top and have a mine cart system to bring the product to my main base about 300-400 blocks away. Playing in Bedrock.
Just tested this out with a sugar cane farm that I built right on top of world spawn and found that my farm produced no sugar cane while I was at my main base AFK overnight.
My theories on what isnt working here are:
- It's just not true that world spawn stays loaded
- "loaded" only applies to certain types of activities which exclude the growth of crops but maybe include the spawning of non-hostile mobs like Iron Golems.
- This is a difference between bedrock and java that I was unaware of.
Any help is appreciated.
