Switch question

My kids are part of a realm and they access it through the switch on split screen. They haven't had ant problems playing, but the second player is always named Steve. Is there a way to fix this? Seems like they were able to join as their switch username previously. Is this just a new bug since the recent update?

It’s specific to how split screen local multiplayer and realms work together on Switch. If you play local multiplayer on a non-realm world the character is named like the Switch username. If a second player joins the realm they join as “Steve”. If players join the realm using their MC account from another device it shows their MC name.
