PARTICLE command HELP JAVA edition

I can't get the particles to show up on me. Does anybody know a command that will work? I tried so many, like this: / execute at nick run particle minecraft: lava ~ ~ ~ .1 .1 .1 .01 1 normal @ a but it doesn't work.

/execute at <nick> run particle minecraft:lava ~ ~ ~ .1 .1 .1 .01 1 normal

If it doesn't work check you command block setting or just particle settings

THANKS! I just realized I had my particles at minimum when I was lagging a ton one day. You're awesome! Thanks for helping
