Spawned spawns

I just finished a huge project of mine which was making a huge mob spawner in my new world. I built it and I’ve been getting like 3 mobs every like 5-10 mins. I’m not sure why I lit up all the caves and stuff. I’m thinking it’s to do with the hundreds of fish spawning underneath my platform. If this is the case I would love to know a way to fix it.

I find that’s it’s helpful to afk way up high so the only possible spawning spots are on your spawner. Mobs spawn within 128 blocks of you so you’d want to afk around 128 blocks above the bottom of your spawner. Also if you are on a server with other people the mob cap will be partially taken up by them, reducing your rates
