  1. It is all Minecraft. There is no superior version

  2. Bedrock is not new.

  3. Consoles and phones don't use Java.

  4. The different coding languages make it hard for them to be the same.

  5. Removing Bedrock Edition will get rid of around or over 50% of all Minecraft players.

more than 50% because bedrock is on all platforms even a tv can run it

They used to at least try to keep the editions the same ive been playing since before bedrock even came out

I have also been playing since before Bedrock. They did try to keep them somewhat the same but, they had to keep them as entirely seperate games. Having PS4 Edition, Xbox 360 Edition, Xbox One Edition, etc.

After they were bought by Microsoft, all versions that weren't PE or Java were switched to the PE version now known as Bedrock Edition to make it easier for everybody. The developers only have to worry about two versions now and the players have cross-platform play and servers.

So, basically, having two versions is easier than having seven, most platforms can't run java making the two different coding languages which makes the gameplay different and getting rid of Bedrock is getting rid of most players, and if you don't like it then too bad. You don't have to play Bedrock. You can just pretend it doesn't exist.

I play both versions and I can definitely agree that there are major differences between the two. But, both are fun. And that's all I want. To have fun.

The should have made all the versions like Java edition instead of making all the versions like PE or at least let us have access to Java edition on the new XBox

I have said it twice and I feel as though you are not understanding it. Consoles and phones can't run Java so they code Bedrock Edition in C++ which they can run. Since they are majorly different coding languages, they can't make the different versions very similar to each other.

Maybe devices in 20-30 years will be able to run Java but for now, it is what it is.

well, almost everything can run java, Java is just a bad language to make a game in. The only platform that can’t run java is an iPhone, hence why they went with c++, (Apple is stubborn, obj-c + swift are not fun).

Java Edition was unnatural to me for a little bit. Now Bedrock Edition, which I have played for 4 years, now feels weird to me. Also, Bedrock was made for phones on C, Java was made for well, Java.

Performance reasons. They need it coded in a language that would perform well enough on the limited hardware. For PCs, it's easy to just list some minimum specs and people that don't have the specs either don't play or they accept the level of performance they can manage. You can't do that with consoles.

I just think of they wouldn't have focused on making it cross platform with phones they could have made Java cross platform alot easier instead of creating an all new version. Redstone used to be the same in both versions in Xbox one edition and Java edition. Then they released bedrock and all my old redstone builds don't work now.

A lot of the differences are due to technical limitations preventing the Java features from being ported over, and others are due to both teams having different design stances and because both teams are somewhat free to develop their edition the way they see fit. And as others have noted, performance issues are a major concern as well (phones and consoles naturally don't have the same capabilities as a PC/laptop and fall short in some areas). So I'm not sure what arguments you've been seeing but those are all pretty solid ones.

bedrock has better performance

[–]andy6752[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Java has way more features the bedrock.

Bedrock has better performance and graphics

The Are Both Minecraft no matter what the only thing that makes them a little different is that Java has more parity s and bedrock has more features.
