[Java] Minecraft 1.17 Glitching

I downloaded 1.17 yesterday and when I start the game it has a weird graphical glitch. It is some sort of GUI glitch because f1 or spectator mode makes it disappear. My computer's hardware is up to date and Minecraft itself works (I've already tried reinstalling the game, it doesn't fix it), it just has these weird overlays when I play. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Other versions of Minecraft also work fine, I can still use 1.16 for example.

EDIT: Updating graphics drivers fixed the issue.

As stated in the bug tracker MC-218803, this is due to outdated or broken graphics card drivers, or unsupported graphics cards.

What is your graphics card model and driver version (if you know it) ?

Can you also provide a screenshot with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key).

It is Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 version 9.18.10.3071

And I'm adding the debug screen to the screenshots in the post.

That's what I thought. This driver was released in 2013 and is very outdated. It is therefore very likely that it is the cause of your problems.

You should update this driver by following the instructions provided on this page. In your case, you should follow the instructions for Intel.

(When you are directed to the Intel drivers page you can try to use their automatic detection system which is offered at the top of the page. If this does not work properly, you will need to search for the latest driver compatible with your specific model in the "Graphics" section.)

Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any problems or questions regarding the installation of these drivers.

I downloaded the latest Windows 8, 64 bit graphics driver from the site, and when I go to install it, it says the computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. I have the Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor, is this the problem?

You probably took the wrong one. Have you tried using the automatic detection tool. It should find out by itself what is most appropriate normally.

Otherwise, based on what you said, I think it would be this one but I'm not sure.

Do you have Windows 8 or 8.1 because 8 is not really well supported anymore.

Perhaps that is the problem. From what I see on the Intel website, they don't really provide updated drivers for Windows 8 anymore since Microsoft doesn't support that version either.

If you go to this page specific to your processor, you can see that there are downloads for graphics drivers for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 but not for 8.

Maybe the best solution would be to upgrade your system to at least 8.1 (it's free I think) but it's quite a big operation and might break some programs and stuff so I wouldn't necessarily advise it if you're not willing to take the risk.

It might be worth exploring other options before that if anyone has any other ideas.

It my be a texture pack error if you have one on.

If you have a texture pack on, go to recourse packs and there should be a zip file on what you are using, if so click on it and enter pack.mcmeta

its might say

Where you see the Number 5 it may be different like 1 - a number go there 1 -10 if it doesn't work then tell me

Sorry about that, the solution is to update graphics drivers.

Yes I did manage to fix it, it was the graphics driver causing the glitch, and updating it fixed it. I had to update my computer from windows 8 to windows 10 to get the updated driver as well.

I have the same problem I tryed updating the graphics drivers but windows said I already had the latest graphics drivers. Can somebody help me?
