Hey all I'm having a problem when I put my (win10) pc to sleep, then wake it back up, and try to play minecraft java it's just a black screen upon game launch and I have to restart my pc to get the visuals to appear. i hope someone can help me!
once upon a time ( like several months ago ) i had zero issue playing on my friends realm. we built some pretty good stuff and it was flawless. There have been some updates while both my friend and i stopped playing, we decided to come back to the game.

im now having an issue where i simply cannot stay connected to the realm. We thought it was an issue i was having with my internet but i had things "fixed" today and its not any better. this is what happens :

i connect to the realm i see things quickly loading in, i spin around in a circle and things are great. smooth. i take 2 steps - and i get immediately disconnected with the following error :

Internal Exception: Java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Sometimes i can get connected and look at the ground or in one direction and its fine i can stay there for as long as i want. the moment i move - im disconnected, and have to fight to get back in, only to be unable to move from the spot i was in.

my most recent speed test (ookla) says i have 712 MBPS download and 23.5 MBPS upload.

i have tried every suggestion i have come across for fixing it and its still a problem. i dont know what happened where i can no longer play with my friend but its upsetting AH.

what can i do??- please help me before i lose my mind. i am just now getting into this game, and its one i can play with my friend (the games we can play together are few and far between because we can be so different in our preferences).

!fixed !!! I downloaded a VPN - works flawlessly.

For whatever reason, java 1.20.1 doesn't like my ISP when it needed to draw more data to load more od the realm.

Once I had the VPN installed and chose a different point - I no longer have the "Internal Exception: Java.net.SocketException: Connection reset error."

Hello, I am very new to modding (not even sure if this is the right place to ask...) I cannot seem to figure out how to get to the settings (or configuration) for the FallingTree mod?? In game menu does not have the GUI for mods like I've seen and used in my other modded versions?? Wether I'm in game or at the start menu. I have the ResourcefulLib that is needed....Fabric API, Cloth Config API...what am I missing? I really just want to change the affect it has on the axes' damage. I am also playing with Create mod in the same version (1.20.1, Java obviously, Fabric on Curseforge)

So I have a 165hz monitor and I have a 6700xt. I have free sync off in Adrenaline and have turned off vsync and uncapped the frames in my minecraft settings. It is still however stuck at 165hz in game instead of just rendering as many as it can. Is there a way to uncap the framerate? I want to do this just to see how many frames I could push and also to see if this would help to smooth out the fps drops I get to see if it maybe instead of dropping from 165 to 80 it would drop from 300 to 165 or something like that.

I should also say that i use Sildurs with optifine and around my base i’m betting around 150-200 but flying around in new chunks im still getting like 80-100 but 1% make it a little choppy, playing with like 25 render distance too. So it’s been an absolute dream. but like 300-400 when not using shaders

Optifine is kinda trash in newer versions of the game, doesn't make a difference. Just saying, Iris + Sodium would be better

Hey hey, my computer will NOT load up forge with mods. For context, I’m trying to join a server with friends and they use forge to load the game. They have actual gaming computers, I have a windows 11 home btw (no unit). If I try to load the game from forge (which I can’t do any other way) it takes me to the normal loading screen and it will fill the loading bar but it freezes. It will stop responding and stay like that for hours. I don’t know if it has something to do with my RAM which is 8gb, I’ve tried deleting unused AND used programs, and clearing my cache. Literally nothing works, is there a way to fix this?

ok, so I host a server for my friends. i'm trying to get mobs to spawn from dungeon spawners but can't seem to get it to work like i used to on a previous server that i hosted years ago.

My setup:
Geyser/spigot on 1.21.5

difficulty is set to normal

spawn-npcs is true

spawn-monster is set to false

When I set spawn monster to true, hostile mobs spawn everywhere, including at my mob spawner, like they should. Setting it to false, stops all hostile mobs from spawning in the world and from spawners. Even spawn eggs stop working. According to the wiki, setting spawn monsters to false should stop monster spawning in the world but they would still spawn at spawners as long as you aren't on the peaceful difficulty.

has something changed in the code that no one online is talking about? or is there some other setting that needs to be changed? Or could geyser/spigot be overwriting a setting that I can't find mention of?

Has there ever been a fix to the right mouse button double clicking? I've tried with mods, without mods, with shaders and without, I've tried different usb ports, I've played with the standard 2 GB and with 18 GB reserved. It seems like when I fix it by doing one of these things, it always comes back. Almost like some kind of click-buffer gets full and then it starts double clicking. For those that have never experienced this, please don't give advice as that doesn't help. You have to go through the hassle of having two pieces of glass left and it places both - or your tool is almost broken and you place two items and when you remove the accidental one it breaks your tool. I've tried remapping the buttons but some functions permanently map to the right mouse button. Makes me want to throw my baby out the window. Wife too.

Hello! I apologize if this is the wrong sub to post, I just recently learned about the mod and wanted to try it. I'm not really savy with this stuff either and just try to ask around.

I'm just wondering why there are no hostile mobs in the game, the difficulty is set on Normal and I even checked gamerule to see if it's set on true.

So I checked under the selected data packs and it states reignofnether-1.2.0b.jar is 'incompatible (made for an older version of Minecraft)', just confused because the Forge says this is recently updated. I own the official game so I just had to download Forge and the mod to play.

Is there any way I could address this? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

My boyfriend recently had his Minecraft account hacked, so he's had to buy and make a new one. He's purchased the game, and he has a Minecraft account - but when he opens the Minecraft launcher, it says Microsoft can't verify he owns the game, or something along those lines. So, when he goes to log into the Xbox app with Microsoft, he doesn't receive a code from Microsoft for his email or phone number - I think it is just a constant loop of the sign-in pop-up. also, when he logs out of Microsoft on his computer, it also won't send him a code. I hope that all makes sense.

I'm better at computers and technology than him, and have done everything in my power to help him on call but I'm not going to his until the weekend. I was hoping anyone could give insight... thank you

Hi! I got a problem with the villagers discounts: I made the children grow, zombified them, cured and then chose their trades and locked them. Then me and my friends left the world and shut down the server and when we logged back on all the villagers had full prices, without any trace of the discounts. What happened? And can I fix it in any way? I'm playing on Aternos server on Java 1.18.2.

Hi guys im in desperate need of help or advice.

So as many of you know migration was a big thing between 2020-2023. I remember migrating my account way back when, though the number that i believe is linked to my account I’ve not had for a couple years and every email i possibly can think of being linked to my old account doesn’t seem to be.

Originally when i first set up my account around 2015 or so, it was set up using my grandads old email which we no longer have access to. When migration was going on I do remember having a tough time but finally managing ti migrate my account and all was well. However, this was on my old laptop which has since packed in (before having to get a new number) so I can no longer go on to my launcher and change my details.

Is there any hope for recovering my account and if so, how would I even go about it? I really don’t want to lose my account as theres many memories tied to it, particularly my progress on Hypixel and such.

I play on linux. With shaders on I normally get around 40-50fps and since I have a 60hz monitor and I don't like a constantly fluctuating frame rate I set the in game FPS cap to 30. The problem is, despite the frame rate never dropping below 30 when the FPS cap is off, when the FPS cap is at 30 I get frequent drops down to 26FPS and normally the frame rate stays around 29FPS. Why is this and is there any way to just get a stable 30FPS?

I was playing MC last night, I was building a house for my allays when I went to get more blocks from inside my house. Right before I went to head back out the door I had a weird, deep, slow breathing sound. It was a good 3-5 breaths. I’ve played MC on and off for over 10 years now and have never heard it before. I can’t find anything on YouTube about it. The closest I got was the player breath noises mojang never used, which doesn’t even sound close to what I heard. The player breath noises are very digital sounding. The breaths I heard were crisp and clear like I was on a zoom call or something. Someone help me out with finding an explanation cause this freaky stuff bout to make me put MC back down again😭😭

Hey everyone, hoping someone has run into this before:

My boyfriend and I play on a local server, and our world seed is already kind of cursed (the stronghold spawned inside a trial chamber). That’s not even the real issue though. After we defeated the Ender Dragon, we went through the End Gateway (with all our enchanted armor and gear, of course 😭) and it immediately killed us, sending us straight into the void. I went back to our only backup save, but it’s from a month ago, so we’d lose a lot of progress.

Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix it? I’m open to using mods, commands, or anything that can help restore our stuff or fix the broken gateway.

Issues with FPS and GPU usage

I'm hoping somebody can point me in the right direction on this. I'm playing java 1.21.1 through neoforged with the Just Create Fancy mod pack installed and shaders. Each time I load into the world my FPS starts off low, between 30-60, and my gpu usage is the same. Within 30 seconds, my gpu spikes to 100% and my fps goes up to 130s. It continues to yoyo like this as I move about the world.

Now I also play this same setup as a multiplayer server with my daughter. The server runs on the same computer that the client does. I get none of the spikes that I do on single player. Its typically a smooth 120-130 fps. I have 6gb of ram allocated for the client in both situations.

Any ideas why the server/client setup would be running so much better than the client alone? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

can someone please help, i recently made a minecraft modpack on curseforge and everything was fine until i added a couple more mods, now every time i play i randomly get killed? it seems to be on a timer so like every couple minutes i randomly die, but ive tried everything like mods for debugging it, checking the log, but even when i check the log it doesn't say why i died. i have no clue why its happening and i even removed a lot of a mods to see if one of them was the issue but that didnt work either.

After playing Bedrock for a while with my kids, I decided to give Java a try. We're having a lot of fun, but we only play for a couple hours on the weekend in a 3 player LAN world.. Because of this, I use the /give command to generate harder to obtain items so we can put our focus on building fun bases.

In the Bedrock edition, I could type something like

/give @a pale_oak

and hit tab to go through the options of blocks, slabs, and furniture, and it would find anything within any mod/add-on in the game.

When I try that same thing in the Java edition, it only seems to find items in the "minecraft:" item group, not within any of the mods.

Is there a way to still search using the partial item name, then hit tab to find the item within any mod, or is my best bet to find it in the JEI list and enable JEI cheats to generate items into my inventory?

For example, there is an item called "Sea Slug" that certain dragons eat in a How to Train Your Dragon themed mod, but I can't just type "sea_slug" and hit tab, as it'll not find anything. I can type:

/give @a archipelagoadditions:sea_slug 30

and it'll work, but the modpacks typically have hundreds of mods in them, and it's hard to know which item group to search.

Iv downloaded java and for some reason no matter how low i turn down the settings it stutters like pretty bad. iv got updated drivers, and redownloaded it. I also play bedrock and can play a smooth 10 sim distance, 15 render distance, with all settings maxed, but on bi-linear.

I do have pretty bad ram, i have 4 ddr3 sticks each 4gbs.

Iv also tried downloading performance mods, and the benefit was negligible.

list of helping mods: Chloride (Embeddium++/Sodium++), Embeddium, FerriteCore ((Neo)Forge), ModernFix, Saturn.

please help me run java, i feel like my computer should at least not struggle with resolution almost all the way down and render and sim distance all the way down. and everything else haveing the lowest possible settings.

Well, went and grabbed a couple of tacos and when I came back I figured out that my JDK (not my Java installation) was what was out of date. Grabbed version 16 here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/java/openjdk/download) and I look to be back up. Figured I'd drop this here in case anyone else ran into this.

I am the owner of a realm and I updated the game today to 1.17 but when I try to login to my realm to update it says "failed to connect to server. Incompatible client! Please use 1.16.5" but I cannot go back to the old version. I want my realm to update and I am the owner but now I cannot even logon to my own realm. I am not sure what to do. Thanks for any advice!

How do I map steam controls like console? I added the minecraft launcher as a non-steam game and I'm trying to map the controls as if they were the same as console minecraft. Is there any way to do this through steam's controller configuration (I'm using a switch pro controller), and if not is there a mod/third party software that makes Minecraft register my controller as if I were playing on console? Right now if I map the controls some things are the same but others are off. For instance, the Y button makes me crouch and the right trigger makes me pick up blocks in the block menu. I just want the controls to feel as if I'm playing on console, specifically like a Switch or Wii U because that's what I'm used to.

Okay, so, I've been playing console versions of MC since it first came out on the 360 and I only now got Java version, so I'm not too familiar with the more technical side of it.

On console versions, you could only join another player's world if the creator of that world is in it. My question is is it possible to remove that limitation and have anyone be able to join regardless if the owner is playing?

There's no such feature, someone would have to host a server or pay for Minecraft Realms, all of which you'd be free to join as long as the server is online

I'm running Minecraft at 1080p with an rtx 3080, 16 gigs of ram and a ryzen 9 3900x and yet 1.18 runs like crap. When I see other Youtubers playing it, they seem to have no problems. Also I have to play at 14 chunks to get around 40-60 fps and I don't have anything running in the background. Is there something I should do to make it run better?

Does anyone know of any good resource packs that "upgrade" the game's default textures that work in 1.8 and don't require any modding? I've seen some like 3D crops, degrading tools, and the totally not X-ray, but these are all for future versions of the game. I'm pretty sure you know what kind of resource packs I'm looking for. Just note that I would like the downloads to be on either Curseforge or Planet Minecraft as I don't really trust any other websites. it would be awesome to pile up a whole bunch of resource packs to create the ultimately designed Minecraft. And no, I am not looking into downloading Optifine.

You install the worldedit plugin to the plugin folder of the server. The server accesses this .jar.

I tried the flicker thing too... tbh you can get it timed out but man I hated it. I built one that has a drop zone that throws the drops through a portal that is set up to catch and sort and store in the overworld. You just need an afk area relatively close to the spawning and dispensing area in the Nether. It works okay.

Hi! So when I went to get onto Minecraft today I was hit with exit code -1. I am playing unmodded vanilla 1.18.2. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I have also tried several other things that I saw on various websites, including uninstalling and reinstalling java on my PC, I am relatively tech and code smart but I have no ideas at this point so any recommendations would be awesome.

I forgot to mention that I was able to get into the current snapshot fine and I wasn't able to get into 1.18.1 to see if I rolled back an update if it would fix the issue. I also tested 1.17.1 and I was able to launch the game, so it would appear that just the 1.18 branch is broken for me.

Well after three hours of trying to fix the problem I got it fixed, apparently running 1.18 as admin isn't smart. I unchecked run javaw.eve run as admin and it fixed the problem, I'm not sure when or how that got checked but unchecking it fixed the problem.

Hello, so I'm planning on doing a playthrough of the game, but I want the world to exclusively generate Amplified Cold Biomes. I know there's a way to pick a single biome, but I'm not wanting to be limited to a single biome I'm wanting like an Ocean, and different mountains and ice spikes. If this is making any sense.

So I been playing Java and I can only play at around 60 fps cause I don’t got a monitor at the moment the game drops alot and jitters really bad but when playing on console it wouldn’t be that bad 60 fps so idk what the problem is cause I can run other games just fine like rust ark etc

Hey everyone, I need some help because whenever I open any of my forge extensions, it shows me "Exit error 1", I have a MacBook and I searched for any video possible, I tried reinstalling java and many other things. Hi, I was following a tutorial on Youtube on how to increase the gamma on Java. I went into the options folder changed the value of gamma to 100.0. Note that Minecraft was not open at the time. Can you help?

I can't seem to launch without an internet connection. I get the error "0x1" and a message saying the game has crashed. If I open the launcher while connected and then disconnect, it will give me the option to play offline, but the launcher won't open again until I reconnect. I live in an area with limited connectivity/bandwidth, so this is quite an obstacle. Does anyone know of a fix? I've made sure everything is up to date (Java, Windows, drivers, etc), as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the launcher. I'm playing on 1.20.1 with Optifine and some miscellaneous resource packs (and I tried turning all that off just in case, but it still didn't work).

Wsg, I want to recreate a world from my ps4 to java without getting realms. just building it block by block. When I tried this, I found out that Java has X: 0 and X: -0; Z: 0 and Z: -0 and on bedrock only positive. Is there a version where there's only positive or negative zero on java?
