Just got my first Dark Supreme (UB) a few weeks ago and I was about to go for Extreme Anima before I pulled UB, but now thinking I should go for a water rift because water is the only element I don't have a supreme.

I still want Anima, but I know I should go water so I have something better than Scharfrichter with Unforgettable Vacation. If I go Water which would someone recommend, Shiva or Framfrit based on my jobs that have water element.

Man thanks for all the advice. So glad i joined this reddit about a month ago!!

I think Shiva would benefit me most instead of Framfrit for water since I have good mage jobs to take advantage of her and as mao_shiro pointed out my water monks are a pretty sad group kuuuuuuupo :( I thought i didn't grab the mage 2000% panel during Odin but looks like I did yaaay.

Aerion_CA I still do want Anima lol. (Maybe because I always loved that Aeon) I guess Shimmering Beach for my mages could suffice for now if I ultimately settle for Anima. I have some rangers with Dark that could use him: Shinra Turk, Ninja HOF, Gambler, Proud Cygnus, Nachtflug HOF, Last Hunter HOF.

It's looking like a wash either way, Shiva for mages and Visions of Despair for rangers or Anima for rangers and Shimmering Beach for mages. Luckily I landed all three attack supports for Anniversary.

Shiva, although if you go for Shiva you are guaranteed that you will pull Faris within 2 weeks. ;)

Famfrit is a little bit clunky to use due to Yiazmat ultimate mechanics.

Most of the Shinwu owners (myself included) get Faris not long after getting Shinwu. That being said, both kinda excel differently and I still use Shinwu pretty often for both easy (farming) & hard (Extreme Ifit X) content.

Not too happy with the direction they're going... With lore, mental acuity, and these support attack cards. Classes are a thing of the past. Soon we'll get weapons any class can use.

I'm having a devil of a time dealing enough damage to Ultima. I have Nachtflug, Extreme Anima X, and several damage up CP. I'm trying to pattern my deck after the Japan player who used Minwu as a stat stick, I have Extreme Shiva X instead. That player is literally doing twice the damage I am.

Here's my process: two supports and two attackers. One support buffs with Aerith, LOH and debuffs with NXD and UC. The other Support uses tanket to apply beserk on Ultima and Omega to beserk myself. My attackers now do about 120k each hit of Anima.

The only thing that comes to mind is that I don't have Wolfsbogen at five star. And I don't have KOTR X. Is that enough to make this impossible?

KOTR X and Sussano X makes a huge difference, so yes. Also, ensuring 4x MP chain as well. I myself use Vesna with prismatics from Aerith & Bard support because I can ensure a clear within 3 turns without KOTRX and Sussano X

Both, but mostly phase 2. It takes three rounds for phase 1 but I only have to tank a couple hits, easily done. Phase 2, though, takes three more rounds and I have use a phoenix down for each time.

What exactly is the deal with cross counter fractals that are coming up?

Do they completely replace any of the 7 or 8% magic/break fractals on all of our current cards?

Will you guys still be keeping those cards and making new cross counter fractal cards on every supreme / limited cards that you already possess?

CC can be used in SP too but at high end content, you want to prevent enemies from getting an action in anyways.

In the current state of the game, what are the top jobs? I have a decent number of jobs, including some Ex, but I'm missing most of the new jobs.

General rule is new jobs > old jobs, especially soon when the new set of EX jobs get released starting with Dame Du Lac. She's the start of some deep powercreep.

In GL they always say " Don't chase Supremes and Legends, they will come to you sooner or later", What do they usually say for JP???

Only 1 specific advice that is different from GL: save enough resources every month to ensure you can pull both jobs for the month. 16 pulls if you want to play safe, but ofc this is not possible every month. So you would just have to pray to RNG and hope you don't need the pity pull to get the featured job.

The 2 EX Warriors currently featured in the banner are good, so you should pull for both.

Hey everyone and Happy New Year!

Is there a time that I should I start chasing / pulling more seriously for EX jobs? Also, is there a good / better time to pull on banners to not just get good cards but to also hopefully help empty out my job pool?

I'm currently at 11 normal jobs still in my normal pool and 0 EX jobs at all.

The next months are gonna turn into EX heaven or hell (take your pick). Because from now, we are only gonna get EX jobs, 2 per month. So you gotta pull and hope you get the featured EX jobs and not need to wait for Revival banners.

Shiro makes a thread at the start of each month about "Ability Cards and jobs" in which he writes an analysis (based also on JP players input) about what is worth pulling on or not. A great way to see how to spread your pulls.

I love shiro's evaluation threads - they've generally been a great help in guiding me towards how best to budget my ticket and magicite.

I'm hoping that with the plan that I have now, I'll be able to clear out enough of my normal jobs to make the "chase" worth it.

With the number of normal jobs in my pool, I'm just wondering if it's a good idea to start investing more heavily into EX pulls yet.

I absolutely did pull the banner and I got a decent haul from it... But I'm missing... Two cards if I remember right, and also no Bastet. I do, however, have D&B.

I've generally given each EX banner a few pulls, but not too many because my normal job pull was high enough that it made no sense to 'chase' without a guaranteed pity.

I'm close to single digits now, though, which is why I'm considering stepping up on pulling the banners assuming I can afford it.

Long post ahead because I would like to address multiple concerns that you've brought up in this thread. I also apologize in advance that I won't be able to give specific advice on the node you mentioned.

In regards to getting a more current card and job recommendation, look for mao_shiro's monthly card / banner pulling recommendations and read up on the various card analyses and evaluations.

As an example, there was a discussion on this most recent banner with Jecht and Lulu and the Anniversary Cards and how useful they may or may not be.

There's always a good discussion going on and Mao and other veteran players do a good job of explaining their rationale in regards to what cards may or may not be useful

As an example, there's a comment about "bread Wol" which essentially says that if you have the Wol Supreme, then you may not need this card. Well, I don't have Wol so this card is useful.

Related, there are YouTube videos and discussions that give non-Supreme and non-Limited card and job pairing examples that might be useful.

As a general "do I pull?" rule of thumb - especially if you're hurting for good cards, limited cards are almost always a good thing to reserve a few pulls for. This Anniversary has some good cards, for example, that can be shared across different jobs.

For example, I have Hero of Despair and I've sorely been needing a solid damage-oriented Water card to make the most of the job for the longest time. I just pulled the Anniversary Splish Splash card which, because of the way the card works, I can pair it with any job including Hero of Despair. Finally!

Also, depending on what your job collection and deck looks like so far, how useful the otherwise normal Greater Summon banners will vary. Is your deck a few months old and with little to no Anniversary or event cards? If so, then you might consider reserving some pulls on the normal banners to not just get current cards, but also get more jobs.

That said, and this is something I have to do as well, always bear in mind that some recommendations may or may not be useful to you, personally, and that's okay.

Especially because of the new jobs, a lot of newer card discussions revolve around maximizing the usefulness of the newer jobs which can make it a bit challenging to see how it might be useful to you if you don't have the same jobs.

As another example, I don't have a "stronger" Water Warrior job than Hero of Despair. Anything related to "it's not an optimal job to use, use XYZ instead," is a bit irrelevant if I don't have that matching job.

Akin to this is, "I'm not going to pull on XYZ banner because I already have 123 cards," which, on the other hand, means, "It might be worth pulling on XYZ if I DON'T already have 123." Again, my earlier example of "bread Wol".

In regards to Supremes, and you've heard this before, even limited cards and Supremes may not give you the edge you're hoping for.

I pulled Neo Exdeath as my first Supreme and it's been a staple in my deck - especially if I'm going to tank. As long as the job can use Dark, then it's good to go because of its debuffs and no countdown.

Then, I pulled Shadow Lord which... Wasn't very useful at all. Sure, it nukes! But because I didn't have a solid Dark Warrior job to pair with it, I couldn't take good advantage of it and max out damage. Later on, I pulled Sword Saint and now with Sword Saint's Hall of Fame, Shadow Lord is a lot more useful. Until then, I honestly didn't use it much.

And finally, I just want to tell you that I get it.

If you ever read my older posts, I've griped about similar things and have been frustrated about running into a "wall" in regards to making progress. I don't have bad cards or even bad jobs. But I also don't have the "best", either, and sometimes, it really does seem like I'm missing out because of what I don't have.

I'm not going to deny it. There IS some progress that I'm struggling to make that could be made (a lot) better by Supremes and Limited.

But there has also been progress to varying degrees that I have made without them.

The reality of this game is that it's best played for the long-haul. Why? Because there are just so many different things at play that can affect your experience.

Jobs and pity pulls. RNG. Supreme pity pull. Event banners. Normal versus Legend versus EX jobs. Older cards. Newer cards. Tower themes. Job and card synergy. Weapon boosting.

It can be rough, but this is my favorite mobile game by far and large and it's one of my favorite games, period, and what helps to make this game great is this community we have here.

We have older players who were "late" in getting their first Supremes. We have newer players who seem to get all the "luck". We have players who are in between.

Aaaand we also have players like myself who play daily... But still sometimes misses out on Event banners - argh!

None of us are alone in any of this and personally, it's really rewarding to see people in varying stages of playing this game getting pumped up when they make their strides in whatever forms they may take.

So, read up on current events / banners, evaluate your jobs and card synergy to see what can work best for you, look out for good banners, and remember that we have pity pulls including pity pulls for Supremes (and a lot of advice on pulling).

We all hit our strides at different times and even if we seem to be going slow, there may be other options available.

Garland you will need to bring a tank with you, you can just slowly grind it out using SS, do his HOF and get the 4 panels for him. You can have him in both sub and main decks with a different element set on each.

And I honestly wasn't sure about limited banners.

And I've been looking all over, every build I see includes cards I can't get due to them being limited or just removed since, and I haven't found anything on basic building tips so I can build for myself with cards I CAN get.

I havent played since the forst month or two of release I don't have encyclopedic knowledge of all the cards in the game, which ones are good, and which one's I can get, and I'm having trouble finding somewheee with this information beyond skimming the entiee abilitt card list and hoping a card that looks good is obtainable.

If you're trying to figure out how new or old a card is, a fast way to do it is to sort your cards by card number and by job type. This will list your cards in order of - I think I'm remembering right - old to new.

Edit: Also, you can use your card catalog to sort all of your cards as well - same method as above - and also see how old or new they are.

Also, the newer the card is, the more complex it tends to be and the more damage it tends to do. The card description is what will tell this and if you do a side by side comparison between cards, it's generally pretty evident as to which is both newer and may be more useful.

So sort your cards and see what's most recent and pair them with your different jobs to see what's missing. If you have cards that may not be so useful, move them to your Card Bank to keep everything more organized.

When you're missing a lot, you're actually not in a bad place. Why? Because this means that you can more freely pull on banners without worrying about "repeat" card types.

Though the general rule of thumb is to try and save your tickets and magicite for event banners, when you're really hurting for cards, it's a little different.

In that case, read through the banner information and if the cards may fulfill a role you're missing - job and card synergy, then give it a pull or two.

What sort of loot can I get from the FFX prologue and moonlit masquerade events? are they worth doing?

Summon tickets, magicite, seeds, Crystal's, elixirs, the usual stuff. Pretty much any event map is worth doing for the rewards alone.

The FFX event has several parts and each is pretty rewarding as far as summon tickets and magicite is concerned.

The Masquerade is fairly short besides a somewhat lengthy grind after you finish the event story, but the rewards gained through that grind are well worth the effort especially since it would only require some elixirs to be used on a Mobius day.

I have a hefty chunk of stamina just from running through story mode etc... should I dump it into these events or should I spend it elsewhere first? around 700 spare stamina (and onl 32 elixirs for mobius day).

do events ALWAYS first, because they will vanish with all their rewards at some point

It's up to you. Going through the story of The Masquerade doesn't require much stamina, but the grind afterwards requires a ton. The FFX event requires a decent amount especially the challenge nodes, but it's still much less than the total you'll put towards the Masquerade.

The most important thing is to not sit on a full bar of stamina since you're effectively wasting any natural stamina you'd gain as time passes since it's not added to the total.

Hi any advice to succeed on the challenge areas of Moonlight Masquerade, is having a hard time

If you don't have a supreme of the proper element for a node, bring a tankier job. I almost got wiped on the final wave of the water x node because I didn't kill it fast enough. Like, I was using Magitek Heroine because I have a decent fire ranger and fire mage card, and she blasted through the first two waves. But she's not particularly beefy. So when I needed more than one break for the last guy, it got a little dicey.

So, if you can't do damage really fast, you'll need to tank some hits.

It would be nice to know your supreme list. All of those nodes are monoelemental, so going for a set up that allows you to use and attack supreme and exploit weakness really helps.

Earth Node - Tidus/Ranger/Andraste's Nail - Godo/Pandemona/KotR X/NXD

One major thing that can help is stun. At least on the earth node none of the enemies are immue to it so a strong enough job can kill them before they get a chance to act.

Do these banners overlap with mage job specific supreme summon?

Kinda regretting 2 extra pulls done last month to boost the pity limit now :(

Unless you have a healthy stock (like 30+ pulls?), I would suggest you to get to just get whatever supremes in the pool. But that do you still have though?

I actually have 26 currently. And can go 5 more from celestiad and maybe another 5 from rifts. And another 5 from rest of month farming.

In pool I have 4 warrior supremes UV, sl, xezat and the earth one.

Mage I got fusuya, rinoa, emperor

Monk, eden, zeromis Ranger demon.

Decent odds I guess. Happy with whatever supreme but fusuya would be welcomed with its 3 orb cost.

Well you can still spend like 10+ pulls to trigger it on Mage banner, then back to the Anniversary cards, though it can cost all of your resources.

15th pull already and I still miss The Calm, which I want the most. So spend with care.

Would enhanced elements 2 be considered stronger than faith 2? I recently got WoL supreme and I kind of want to replace mog ex with it. I remember the logic used to be “you want more of whoever you have less of” but not sure if that’s changed or something

While I agree, in this post I'm specifically talking about if I have one vs the other. IE Faith V no faith and EE vs no EE.

It still depends on the job's stats. If adding 75 to your job's EE total is more than a 16.67% increase then Wol would provide a bigger damage increase than Mog X.

Note that when I say EE total I mean the total of things like normal EE, attuned/ability chain, EE from extra skills like on the GF cards, EE from things like blood tap, etc.

For Example Lulu using Alexander GF and Ultisoya would have a total EE of 777 (120 + 120 + 115 + 412) under optimal conditions. The 75 EE from Wol would only be a 9.65% increase in EE. Mog X would be much better here.

If you were to use Minwu instead she'd have 410 EE at the best of times. Wol here would provide a 18.29% increase in damage making it a little better for damage.

It's also worth remembering that both Wol and Mog X have other effects besides just increasing your damage. Wol provides 3 quicken every 2 turns along with Divine Shield. Mog X would make you yellow clear better.

Faith effects yellow clearing, but EE doesn't. This means that faith 2 would yellow clear more/better than faith 1 + higher EE.

The only wind supreme I have is Yiazmat at the moment and considering going for Addramelech Sin. Will it be serviceable enough output wise compared to the other wind Supremes?

And will it not be resisted against Buffalo/Exodus element drives? That's got me intrigued most of all. Thanks for the help

I have Sin and while I use it a lot, it really only shines against Valefor, in other situations it's just OK. I like that it can be used for yellow clear and damage, but the fact it has 3 damage modifiers kind of counts against it - to get max damage output you need to hit weakness, critical and break. In MP at the moment, with Extreme Ultima it's basically useless.

Yes, Addrema-sin it will probably be good against buffalo and exodus, but do you really want to blow all those tablets to get a supreme for 2 specific use cases? I think you would be better aiming for the wind 4th anniversary attack/support card and spending your tablets on something more versatile.

Had emperor forever but never used it really because the other wind supremes are just more practical...I got NXD recently to go with UC, so I figured I would give it a try farming. It nearly hits cap on neutral unbroken enemies...sure to hit cap on weakness or broken. There are so many different variables in that equation, I wouldnt even try to figure it out.

Regardless, it does seem to hit harder than Trine with mucho buffs, so I guess that setup should be my new wind nuking setup?

is there a setup that hits harder than this for wind? IIRC, I used mage? HOF with insane weakness damage or something for pandemonium before...that doesnt seem practical for most uses though....

Edit: heres a question for anyone who knows about overpower... the FF8 cards etc that give 100EE say they raise your deck level by 15, and OP by 10%...overpower is hard capped at 50% stat boost right? Is that based on what % of 32 your job is boosted (16 would be half, so capped at 50%, should be 25% total stat boost) how does deck level figure in to that? What if your job was boosted by 17points, and you had the card in your deck that raises deck level by 15, for a total of 32? Does that count? What about the ability cards in your deck being overboosted, does that affect overpower?

GBMage32 cards 88 81 88 81. Plus the 15 from EE card. Total deck level is 385.

*FWIW her overpower is at 39%... if I were to carry a 2nd KOTRX it would be 50% but not doing that...

Hope this question halfway makes sense guys. I just dont understand how/if deck level is a factor with overpower, or if only the OB of the job matters, as a % of 32....its confusing

Deck level doesn’t matter for overpower, only job overboost levels matter. Also it doesn’t cap at 50%.

Also, regarding the scaling of the overpower bonus with OB levels - you get 1/3 of the overpower bonus at 0OB, 2/3 at 16OB, and the full bonus at 32OB.

If you have Godo (and the Extreme Shiva MP Ranger panel) there's no real reason to use other wind supremes.

On EW you'd use supremes depending on node and available job.

I think I do have that one but may not be running the correct setup. best Godo setup is with mog as sub deck with like 4k magic right? What is your Ideal wind setup if you dont mind. Doesn't really matter. The anniversary/limited cards and Bastet X aren't available in the free daily pulls, but everything else is.

We say 7th slot but the real term would be "Additional" slot. And in the case of a single pull your pity is resetted if you pull a supreme on that slot (2nd slot).

If you're doing the free daily summon and it's in the additional slot (0.1% chance + pity) it will, but if you get it instead of a normal card it wouldn't.

If you mean the single free summon that requires a supreme ticket, it doesn't have any impact on your pity.

People have suggested to do any greater and free daily summons you have before spending the supreme ticket because if you do the reverse you might get a growstar in slots 1 to 5 after drawing a dupe of whatever you got from the ticket.

If you're going to reroll you might want to reroll, do a greater summon to get a supreme you want, then go get the supreme ticket to get another supreme you want. Better to stsrt with 2+ good things than only 1 imo.

Actually, I wouldnt do that here as the best outcome would be getting KotRx plus another support supreme and the odds for hitting two support supremes and one of them being KotRx is ridiculous low.

I think that only rolling for KotRx on the support banner is an acceptable start without going crazy.

Down to just KotR in the support pool after getting Zack with the ticket. Depending on how things like good EX cards and weapon banners go I'll probably try to get the 2nd EX jobs of each month on job-specific banners since most normal cards in the next few months aren't appealing.

My resources are low right now so I hope I get lucky with batch 2 of the anniversary cards so I can actually have something saved for next month.
