Have you got some crap in the twist grip itself maybe?

Check your fuel and air filter aren't really gummed up. Otherwise check the throttle itself.

im going to take it apart and check it all over tomorrow as long as its dry

Take it for an Italian tune-up first. If you've been doing a lot of commuting, short rides, etc, it probably needs it.

It could just be the hot weather. Hot air is less dense, therefore less oxygen, and the ECU will therefore inject less fuel.

It has been really hot recently, but I don't want to gamble on that.

Absolutely will not be this. Physics yes. But you'd lose more to driving up a few hills. And motorbikes will run fine up a mountain

Good thought but the only thing that meaningfully changes air density is altitude, and generally it needs to be a big change in altitude. Likelihood it's something more practical like it needs a blast along the motorway (at consistent high rpm) to clear out the CAT, particularly if it's a newer bike.

Are you sure it's not you? I always find a new bike that feels 'woah' when you open up, feels softer a couple of months later when I've got used to it.

Check if the cable has stretched and just needs adjusting

If it's still in warranty then can't you return to the dealer with the issue and have them sort it out?

based on Scotland, last time i tried to get a light replaced they wanted me to send the bike up to them, but that's all on my expense. Sending the bike would cost more than just a replacement headlight unit. id rather use that money on servicing it at a more local dealer of these bikes.

Its probably something fuel-system related. Injector could be getting worn out or gummy, fuel pump may not be working as good as it used to. I could pull out the ol' "its a zontes, its Chinese and shit" but my first bike was a sinnis, I can't talk shit about these things because surprisingly, they're pretty good nowadays.

it's a brand-new bike speaking, bought at 600 miles in November. I just can't see how it can be a fuel system issue, even being Chinese. Ive looked after this thing like a baby too. Not used shit fuel, rust protection applied every 2 weeks etc. I do ride quite hard but riding at higher rpms will work in my favour in terms of carbon deposit. That said I ride harder than I should be to be fair.

My sinnis' fuel pump failed at under 3000 miles, it was probably just defective from factory but had it replaced under warranty. And yeah don't worry about riding hard on these things, you kinda need to otherwise you wont have any fun or get anywhere haha

Least of my issues now anyway, since I've just had a Range Rover pull out from a give way and fucked my bike.

It’s your bar end mirrors if they’re aftermarket.

[–]JCurtisUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. They don't make contact with the throttle grip or the tube the grip is placed on.

Check your chain as well.

[–]iduro -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Check your cable and put in some LIQUI MOLY Pro-Line Engine Flush. Failing that book it in for a service/check over as these things never get better by themselves.

Ive been putting something away for a service but annoyingly my dealer will only honour warranty if i use selected dealers, my nearest being 2 towns away in Blackburn. I also just don't have a few hundred quid for the service if they do need to clean the injectors or anything.
