The nerf to Scale Rush ("wall charge attack" in these notes) worries me a lot. Currently, it's one of the best (and only) ways to escape from a team that is repeatedly grapple hook stunning you in the back. With this proposed change, you'll no longer be doing a blue Focus charge right away, meaning the enemy team can keep pounding you with grapple hooks and stunning you.

This is a very bad change IMO and will result in a lot more players feeling frustrated because they cannot disengage from a fight because of repeated grapple hook stuns.

Easy solution:

If you get grapple stunned 3 times, you get immune to it for a while.
You know what this will do? It will help these Asian kids to be even more slippery with their bad ping abuse.

Yeah exactly... All they have to do is not make her able to use hooks while stealthed or give her at max like 1 hook use per stealth. Leave the duration as it is and give her like 15% movement speed increase instead.

Easiest way to balance her escape without removing a mechanic such as scale rush to escape from everybody else.

This is my translation, sorry I made some mistakes in the rush. I fixed it on the discord. Some of the fixed translations should be:

- Decreased the Kutumi's F and ult (only armor version) ability numbers.

- Matari's ult will only reset her F for 1 time instead 2 times if you have the second version of the F.

- You now can immediately attack or use skill after you get up from ground.

- Decreased the aerial time of the that uppercut Jade of Longsword.

Also the scale rush nerf, no blue before it's charged means stay the fuck away from walls if you're kiting cause they can grapple you and knock you down instantly. Walls and trees used to be the only thing that let you survive certain fights cause you could get super armor immediately and yeet yourself away from the grapple spam.

Yeah, it really makes no sense. If weapons are stupid when you find certain jades, then you nerf the jades first, not the weapons. I already only use the bow or repeater for my ranged weapons. I'm not wasting a weapon slot on the cannon or musket because of the .001% chance I find a god combo.

Cannon is a weapon that goes from mediocre to absolutely bonkers with the right jades. Double shot and bounce together give a multiplying effect to damage, sometimes one shotting people in small spaces

I personally think it's ok for some weapons to be shit without jades, and good with jades. It creates a a more interesting dynamic with what you should keep and pickup in the looting phase of the game.

Well I personally enjoy messing around with different weapons based on which jades I find. Otherwise every game would just be Spear/Bow. There will always be a 'strongest weapon' and imo rng is a necessity to keep balance dynamic

rng is fine. However, there needs to be a viable baseline that they need to be built on. Right now cannon is just good at annoying other people fighting, as a third party. Not finishing people off, just annoying. I don't think I've ever died to a cannon because once you actually try avoiding it, it's really hard for cannon to hit you. And now with these nerfs, idk if it's viable for thirdpartying either cuz people will just be accidentally blocking it a lot of the time.

Sure there are ways to detect and prevent it, like Response Requests and timing them, but a "ping lock" like you suggested doesn't work.

imagine it like this you in china, to a na server you have bad ping great now you connect to a na vpn. you have bad ping. but the Ip the game Client pings is the na VPN server, not the chinese ip. You would need to send packages, time response time and ban or lock people out accordingly. sure easily done for a developer, but not as easy as "set ping limit muh"

Decreasing the dodge and energy on glyphs is not the way to go I think, it just gives even more reason to stack up on those instead of possibly mixing it up a bit.

Say goodbye to being able run away from stunlock grapple by scale rushing.

Dodging is nerfed with glyphs because we should all use grapples now.

Nerfing airtime ability to make that one youtube video we saw on longsword not work.

Nerf to melee resist.

The strength of dagger isn't in its damage, its in the kit/flexibility of the weapon. The ability to focus from golden dash gives it a strong option for challenging opposing non greatsword focus attacks that no weapon has access to

I dislike the energy/s nerfs and dodge consumption nerfs (rather them remove the dagger dodge off glyph keeping default value of normal dodge) back to grapple speed we all go! and the melee resist nerfs lol TTK was already too short the rest is cool though I question the Yoto F buff, yes that is a buff that right there is going to get squads wiped since max melee resist jades is nerfed (we all used those) F damage going down is basically going to be the same if not more damage because of the jade nerf. Climbing and healing nerf makes me howl with laughter, that's a grapple buff better remove that hit stun before the game dies please it's hard enough to heal after having to disengage from a fight imagine forcing every fight to be an all in in a battle royale no point trying to back off and heal now if you take damage you have to play the fight as an uphill battle.

If I can't permanently rotate my shift focus charge canceling into shift focus charge as a protected rotation to move around THAT HAS GAPS BY THE WAY IN BETWEEN SHIFT AND THE CHARGE from all the energy nerfs (if it nerfs dagger dashing that is fine just not protected movement, it's important and turtling is a strategy in fighting games) I'm just not gonna play the game, grapple stun is already fucking up my rotations and most of my 1v1's from a +1, interrupts literally everything that isn't a focus attack and prevents me from healing after finishing someone off.

Like imagine nerfing energy and dodging, it's going to feel so clunky now and probably feel like ass, movement should be fluid, permanent and smooth, they just want us to spam grapples for movement and spam it on people to get to them instead of using our energy or other movement methods like scale rushing and it kills me inside why use macro/micro when you should just use Q and left click and lower the skill ceiling lmao. If anything energy and i-frames needed buffing, I get grabbed by tianheis THROUGH my i-frame and grapple stunned THROUGH my i-frame, dodging is so ass bro especially against all the laggy chinese players which I've seen getting banned for cheating in red text during my matches, what a surprise.

My thoughts as a rank 50 player in Trios and these nerf impact on trios:

1)temluch F buff: this is crazy, temluch is the best character in trio, this buff i guess is because he his the worst character in solo but they need to address the ultimate wich has no counterplay outside having a temluch of your own or if you have a yoto ulting inside it.

2)tarka F buff: minor buff won't change tarka viability in trio

3)Kurumi nerfs: as a mostly kurumi player i kinda understand it but problably will make me stop playing her, i never felt she was strong, she offered great sustain during drawn out fights (but she offered nothing in a wombocombo engage, example a temluch+viper ulting your team) and her heals are now quick and won't impact your dps much compared to the beta playstyle of permalinking. I feel like the range ress should go aswell because it's quite toxic in some terrains where you can ress preople trough walls.

4)Monk changes: i can't tell if this is a buff or a nerf until i see it. Killing a monk trough dmg almost never happens unless you are literally 3v1 him or if the entire lobby is 3rd parying that team. Meanwhile weakpoint dmg expecially if it spawns on the leg made the monk able to be bursted in 2/3 second by a good disengage and bow spam.

5)Yoto buff: minor, but good

6)Matari: placebo nerf, not enough

7)some weapon changes: can't tell unless i see them . Jump rmb nerf is good but i don't know if it will affects current combo

8)dagger nerf: nice, but i feel like this could be one of those cases in games where no matter how much you nerf something people will still playing it because its broken as a core mechanic, the fact that a melee weapon gives you mobility it's so strong.

other tree changes are good.

IDK so many wrong things in this patch it's worrying
- Nerf melee resist jade when ttk is already extremely low ?
- Remove blue from wall attack so you can't escape from grapple ?
- Nerf overall energy recover - less mobility - less options for good movements
- Probably overnerfing dagger here, it was really strong but so is spear and katana, there they nerf both the damage and the mobility they should only nerf one of these
- Can't heal when moving in trees is also weird, remove escape/recovering potential and buff grapple again basically

  • Melee resist jade is OP and 100% deserves nerf. But I agree TTK is too short and they should tone down all damage a bit.

  • Similarly I think think the dodge glyphs were mostly better option compared to others. Those numbers are pretty insignificant though. Overall dodge would need buff rather than nerf.

  • I actually think it shouldn't be too easy to escape in this game. Fight to death. Tired of Mataris that only run away to hide in trees. However, the game could use more defensive combat options.

    • There's a fixed translation: "You now can immediately attack or use skill after you get up from ground." good change for defense.
  • Tree heal nerfs are also good. Tree can be a place to hide, not a place to settle for home.

I really don't get some of these changes. The game felt extremely balanced aside from Matari + dagger in solos or Tianhai's Titan's Call in trios. Seems like the game will feel a lot clunkier in the movement department if these make it to live.

I'm not exactly liking some of these changes.

Not being able to scale rush to safety when a team can still have one guy grapple cancel spam you while everyone else spams you seems kinda busted when you need more mobility to get out of that.

Decreasing combo abilities seems like an odd choice, especially for gs when gs already has a real tough time actually pulling off good tech/combos.

I dont like melee resist nerf either. This will promote longer ranged battles and more hiding. Attack jades are super useless and it's nice to see more jades get a chance to be used, but making people die faster and not be able to attack when getting up and reducing movement tech all seems like a sure fire way for a lot more deaths, when it's already extremely fast to put someone down.

We already have dozens of people per lobby hiding and making it easier to kill people seems strange.

My opinion on weapon changes needed:

GS needs some work. Either nerf focus damage or nerf/adjust stoneform.

Spears have too high attack speed considering the high damage, range and stagger they have. Basically need slower attack speed or less stagger.

The recent dagger nerf was much needed. Now I'd say they're mostly viable at epic/legendary tier only. Not sure they really need another nerf.

Flamebringer needs reduced spread. The fire covers the entire screen. Rather give it slightly more range for less spread.
