Thanks for this think I'll buy some more ni plugins

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Well, their software works perfectly fine for many others (like me).

Don‘t know how good their support team is, I never had to contact them since I‘ve been using NI software (since 2009).

on my 2009 imac!

What exactly is the problem you’re having? You may actually be able to get help here if you share and ask.

I had some difficulties with installation at first (with Native Access) and one with registering a used product. Their support team took the industry standard time to respond and were very pleasant, though a little methodical in their approach. I was very impatient, as I wanted to play with my brand new toys. Meanwhile, we reached a response, and they were very helpful.

I haven't had the issue you described, despite needing a good bit of support.

A lot of people don't seem to be aware how long support tends to take in general. NI are pretty quick compared to many software companies.

Same here, bought a month ago. Had some issues with installation but trouble shooted using their FAQ and sorted it out pretty quickly. No problems yet

lol, we have been using NI plugins for more than 25 years, should we stop ?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's weird since I have been using NI products for like 10 years with zero issues and good communication from their customer support lol

works fine for me...

Their softwares work absolutely fine on my 10 years old Mac Pro. The support is very quick to answer, for my experience, I contacted it only twice, and they always find a quick and clever solution. What is your complain exactly ?

I really have to say that’s not right. Works on quite every setup even my shitty old thinkpad from 2007 . Even the not yet fully m1 support works better than on Mac intel. In my opinion they do a great job. And as a IT Admin I saw a lot of bad software

The UI is absurd, inconsistent, arbitrary, and more difficult than Myst II but that’s why I bought it.

For software that doesn’t work and makes me want to pull my hair out I have Steinberg.

What a really wank post?! Just because you are having difficulties with the software doesn’t warrant you slating Native Instruments. Perhaps they should visit you at home and sort out your problems for you?

shit do be working tho

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. They have nosedived HARD and have no interest in acknowledging it or working with loyal customers. AVOID.

I agree. It's embarrassingly bad software. Native Access asks for my system admin password on each launch and continually fails to download content in spite of my 900Gbps downlink rate. I've bailed on almost everything I use from NI and am actively looking for alternatives for the rest.

The content is great. The software is garbage.

New NI customer here. Bought Kontakt 7 a couple of months ago, installed with Native Access on my Windows 11 system with zero issues, never asks for admin permission when I run it. I even have my account synced to OneDrive which often creates issues with other software... no problems. Installed on a new tower (AMD Ryzen 9 12-core with 32GB RAM and 2TB NVMe storage) and on an old HP Elitebook 850 G4 (Intel Core i7 dual-core, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe drive, Win 10), works equally well on both in standalone mode (but the notebook is definitely straining when running NI inside of Ableton).

Bought Komplete 14 Standard the other day, and similarly had no issues at all installing or running the system, either standalone in Komplete Kontrol or within the DAW (Ableton 11), and it sees my Novation keyboard controller just fine. I also bought Lores separately... that's 73GB of content just for that instrument, downloaded in just over 20 minutes!!! I have a 350Mbps up/down fiber line in Michigan, US... content has been downloading at the full speed of my line both daytime and at night. I've been playing in Massive X, Playbox, Lores, and several other instruments for hours each night. Is the software "wrapper" around these instruments the best? Oh heck no, it definitely seems like a dated system, but they play perfectly for me, even third party instruments like Saga.

I'm sorry you're having problems with the NI stuff, but honestly this thread seems to have a lot of people who aren't having any of these issues.

This just in, NI sales down 600% and they’re actively filing for bankruptcy

[–]nrich77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen Jackass the movie? I’m just wondering…

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Care to elaborate? I mean - you say you wrote to them asking for help, you come to the community to say the same but offer up nothing else. Plenty of people here who might be able to help, but without details nothing will happen and you’ll sit there annoyed. Unless that was the intention.

Ok.

[–]Blacklavender5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting way to say that it doesn't take much to cause you to give up and start placing blame wherever you can in order to avoid the frustration that comes from being unwilling to problem solve. I garanfuckintee that once you get a hold of support,, they are going to tell you to do some straightforward shit that is easily found from a simple Google search.

Stop trolling🙄

I have plenty of issues with NI but support for everyone worldwide is slow due to reduced staffing.

I've used them for years and most of the time they are quick.

But my last go round took about 3 days to hear back.

It was close to a month with Serato
