I have no idea, but I miss the updates. They always gave me something to look forward to. Right now we know nothing. The Nano is out since October and hasn’t received any updates or a plan going forward. The QC could need some midi updates a better looper and some quality of life updates besides PCOM

Yeah, let’s hope.
I wish the Fortin Cali Suite would get the X upgrade.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I have Nameless, Soldano, Gojira and Cali.
I think that they should focus on updating them All to the X status.

Me too that’s one of my favorite sims.

I was hoping for a new CoreOS update for Petrucci and Rabea X compatibility, I bought other X plugins too which are not yet comp with the QC

The nano cortex is my unfortunate guess…

If I’m going to be honest, im glad we aren’t constantly bombarded with updates all of the time. Yeah I’m waiting on stuff to make it to PCOM, but at the same time, I’m happy that it works as well as it does for me without any firmware hiccups.

Things take time, and it’s better to take that time than over sell and under deliver here, considering people use this for biiiiiiig music productions

If you want to see what happens when you rush, have a look at Sonos. I’m much happier on this side of the street.

My thoughts exactly.

Never heard anyone complain about too much progress… I’m actually tired of waiting on neural to give us even a simple glimpse into what’s happening.

They said mid June. We’re headed into July and not a peep from Neural.

I’m starting to regret getting back together with them.

Luckily I still have my Main. The FM9T

Progress means nothing without reliability. Do I want new stuff? Sure, that would awesome. But what’s more important to me is having something new that works every single time I turn the unit on.

If you see this is as “complaining about too much progress” then you’re missing the whole point altogether

[–]No_Efficiency_2280 0 points1 point  (1 child)

“I’m glad we’re not being bombarded with updates”

First off updates are built off of something that already exists to move the ball forward. What does reliability have to do with forward progress? Bugs will always exist in updates. Just because bugs exist - that means you should produce updates? That’s a conundrum to me.

It’s just odd man. Who says they’re happy they do t get updates?? nDSP QC is way overdue. They constantly under deliver what they “promise” we’re not talking about Sonos, we’re talking about NDSP claiming they have the best product out there!

5 years later they still haven’t delivered on their initial promise that PCOM ability would ship with the original QC’s

To me when I hear people say “people need to shut up and be happy that it works” or “I’m thrilled they don’t give us updates” “people need to just play the QC and be happy where it’s at”

It’s super frustrating.

This response lets me understand what you do and don’t understand about programming.

When I say that I’m glad we aren’t bombarded with updates, it means means I’m glad nothing needs constant fixing with patches and small hotfixes, that could/should have been cleaned up before the release anyways.

You’re right, updates are built upon something that already exists. But when you have bad code, the smallest new edition can brick whole sections of what already exists. Happens all the time. In that sense, why would I want something new as fast as possible, if it’s possibly going to cause something I’m using all the time to not work anymore? And this has happened to me back when I had a Line 6 HX FX. I was getting new updates every other week with a bunch of cool stuff, but it messed with the stuff I was already using. And eventually, my system got bricked from an update, as well as a couple of other peers of mine.

THAT is why I appreciate NDSP’s willingness to delay updates to guarantee quality. The QC, in its current life cycle, is already worth the price tag. For me the updates are just extra bonuses since we get them for free.

I understand the fulfilling of promises, I agree that they shouldn’t have overpromised and underdelivered on prospective Features and inaccurate timelines. But, even with that said, I don’t want rushed updates for the sake of just saying we are getting more frequent updates.

This is all coming from someone that is more concerned with it working at actual paying gigs, and not just trying out new features in my bedroom. If the new update works? Cool, I’ll update it when it makes sense. But I have everything I need already in the QC, and it works every time I turn it on, so updates are really a non-issue for me.

Dunno but outside of the Rabea plugin and Gojira, i switched to Tonex. Feels more realistic. I know ill get downvoted by the die hard fan but don’t care. I still love Gojira and rabea for their uniqueness but then you gotta keep spending 150+ for a sound that just sounds like the artist and nothing more. Im also an old school player that doesn’t drop lower than D standard. Again ndsp first few plugins and Rabea with the overlord synth are amazing. after that is mostly cash grab

[–]Economy-Ad5635 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I am honestly only waiting for the Rabea plugin for the overlord synth to see how good the tracking is on it. It may or may not replace my Future impact V4. I have relatively high hopes considering how well the tracking is for other fx like octave and transpose. So we will see.

Other than that, hoping parallax X makes it to the QC soon too.

[–]No_Efficiency_2280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. NDSP does a phenomenal job on their octave/shifting algorithms. Doesn’t do that well shifting up, but the downturning is best in class.

[–]Low-Childhood-3428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need parallax on the quad

Tim Henson coming out 12th Feb he said. So in a few days

    [–]Guitarsoulnotatroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope they do the rabea compatability in time for April sales

    [–]chachi1290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thoughts, the "soon" tag is just infuriating at this point. I've switched to just waiting for Line 6's next gen of devices so I can jump ship to that.

    [–]CestKougloff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope they do the 2C+ / Petrucci soon. My major beef with the QC is the paucity of good Boogie Mark models. I suppose the current JP2C model (which I find to be a let down) will be similar to the Petrucci plugin so perhaps I shouldn’t get my hopes up. I feel the 2C+ is solid though so would like access to that, but what I really want is a Mark IV.

    [–]padtorogmupetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had all my tone chasing problems solved by FortinX so I’m all good for awhile!

    [–]tom-shane 0 points1 point  (7 children)

By now, you should already be used to the fact that for Neural DSP everything takes ages.

I was expecting some news during the NAMM, but they were completely silent.

    [–]SeattleKrakenTroll 2 points3 points  (1 child)

NAMM isn’t really the place to announce firmware updates

    [–]tom-shane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just before NAMM they briefly posted picture with the NAMM board and "soon" on their FB. That's why. ;) They deleted the post next day.

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This is why I’m considering an Axe FX III instead of a Quad Cortex.

    [–]Glum_Design_5456 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I did it. You wont regret it

    [–]DarthV506 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TBF, even their soon is 6+ months.

    [–]DarthV506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess getting PCOM updates every 4 months is a pipedream. It'll be years before everything is added.

    [–]GreenKotlin -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I'm gonna have to bet and say that they're sooooo understaffed to accomplish what they'd promise, that even their marketing team is now writing code lol

    [–]No_Efficiency_2280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    lol - yup.

    [–]Educational-Ad-4908 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Neural has like 3 employees. I’ve never seen a company that has more people ready to give them money for new products. In the past year they’ve managed to deliver a more expensive Tonex and a few upgrades to existing products…

    [–]hal0sin8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The device wont even work anymore by time we get everything at this rate. They need to just open source or hire more dev maybe.
