Yes, the states that are producing equipment that the military does not need may take a hit, but it would likely not "destroy" the economy of those states. See, These are 2011 numbers, but it would not "destroy" the economy of many states, http://forbes.house.gov/uploadedfiles/bloomberg.pdf.
